I am going to be starting to play dungeons more and was wondering what you would suggest i use for gear. I usually play guardian and warrior ( which would people rather have) should i just use berserkers or rampagers? I am probably going to use my warrior more and right now he is a shout healer/range. If you’re with an organized group or a speed clear, they’re probably going to want more zerker warriors than anything else. But you have to have the knowledge to play a glassy melee class because your survivability is nil compared to shout heals with knight/clerics gear. A lot of it is positioning and knowing when to time dodges to get the most dps uptime. Keep a ranged weapon for a few fights but mostly you’ll want to go either greatsword or axe/mace for melee.

One guardian is usually good… most of the ones I run with are cleric/knights with soldier runes.

I used to run shout heals when I would pug and when the dungeons were a little less forgiving. It’s a bit more forgivable for pugs because the coordination in terms of healing and boon removal will vary from group to group. But beyond pure randoms, most groups would rather have the warrior be pure dps who is smart enough to survive than shoutheal.

Don’t wear rampager if you are playing warrior or guardian. Neither class have viable condition damage.

I’d recommend a mix of soldiers and knights gear and jewelry for guardian(AC dungeon, crafting fastest ways to get it.), and full berserker for the warrior(crafting or cof runs fastest way to get it). If you don’t want to play full berserker warrior you can also go the soldiers/knights gear on the warrior as well.

Fyi, shout heal build is not effective in dungeons. I would take a banner build instead. (With banner traits)

I never found the point in running Clerics for guardian. Your job isnt to heal people, its to protect and mitigate damage while also doing DPS. Im not sure if its true but also someone said healing power doesnt really work with your AH trait. Clerics is making your DPS worse and you can still be epic tanky without it.

healing power more valueable then vitality on a guardian.

thats why:
a guardian who fully stacks vitality still got about the same hp pool as a class canon warrior.

so if you want to be tanky going on toughness and healing power makes perfectly sense. it will increase your survabiltry and as addition it will also improve your healer abilities.

I dont stack healing power nor vitality. I only have toughness (And power/precision). Healing power doesnt make sense to me because it doesnt increase my surviviability. My heal signet thingy still heals for a massive amount of hp, usually filling my HP pool. Altrusic Healing, the only other biggest source of a heal, isnt affected much by it. I use virtues sometimes but only 1 heals and I dont need a extra 100hp from it.

In fact when I use omnomberry pie, I find it heals even better than any amount , even 5000000000 healing power could do if I have a problem surviving, which I dont really and if it is, itll be something absurd that no one could survive

i.e. dying to alpha aoe, dying at lupi etc..

its still not useless and it clearely does improve your surviviability alot.

but everybody has his opinion. for example i lol about guardians who go for dps. (create a warrior (even a tanky one) and you know why)

Cleric/Magi gear can be great for a Guardian if you are designed around heals, which a Guardian can do well. It does affect you regen virtue, which can be passed to others if traited. It also does affect the healing symbols, again if you are traited for it.

Personally both Guardian and Warriors are at the top of the “want in group list”. Guardian for a tank and Warrior for dps. I notice a lot of warriors saying glass cannon is ok but I dont know much about them. Warriors tend to last longer than other glass cannons and its not like you res’ them much.
