I have recently gotten into Fractals and I am only up to reward level 16, but I already have 5 Ascended rings sitting in storage that I got from the bonus chest. I bought one of the two I wanted with pristine fractal relics. Most of my other level 80 characters already have Ascended rings purchased with Laurels, and I do have a level 30 Elementalist that could use two of them.

I cannot sell them or give them to guild mates, should I salvage them? What do you get when salvaging an Ascended ring?

You can’t salvage them. You can only vendor them.

I guess that’s why they drop like candy. Seems wrong that something that will surely cost a lot of gold to craft someday is almost valueless today.

Take a screenshot, print it off and send it to arena net in the mail along with a written letter asking them why they haven’t done kitten about this yet.

Yeah, it’s annoying. At one point I had 2 banks tabs full, but I finally vendored some. The ring situation seems unfinished so I’m hesitant to sell them all. I’m sure the minute I do, they let you salvage them for ascended mats.

What happens if you salvage Ascended armor or weapons?

During the last living story QA stream, I actually asked them why they didn’t address any of the player’s concerns in the fractured update (having a way to dispose of unwanted rings/skins, improving rewards), and why it was so botched (with the amount of bugs it introduced). I wasn’t condescending, or rude, and the twitch mods still deleted my post.

Also, I doubt that fractal leaderboard will ever see the light of day either (not that anyone cares).

ANet has said a while ago that “something was in the pipe” in order to do something with those useless ascended rings.
But, as usual, it’ll take ages to be available (and no one knows what it’ll look like : salvaging ? exchange ?).

Right now, I’m just collecting one of each ring (infused and not infused) and plan on making up some wild story for each one after I’ve collected them all.

I pair the similar ones next to each other, and only keep a unique one of each piece

It wouldn’t be so bad if we could at least throw four of them into the Mystic Toilet for a random roll at possibly getting one we actually want, but even that’s out the window.

Feed all the rings and Bloodstunedust/Empyreal Fragments to the next dragon, probably we can kill him after because he can´t fly anymore.

I like the mystic forge idea, I suppose the forge wont take them either? What kind of toilet is it that won’t let you flush some rings?

I usually destroy them. I could vendor them but.. idk i don’t. If they have stats I like though I’ll save them in bank tab for another char to use.

Maybe they hope we’ll fill our banks with these crappy rings we get and then we buy gems to get more bank slots C:

I wonder if it’s intent or just bad drop table. I’m not saying I’m very experienced in fotm having the 200 achi completed just today, but ppl who were doing it a lot are complaining about almost no armor / weapon drops.
