What will guardians do in raids?
Blinds, aegis and stability.
Just play it, it will be viable. Can’t imagine they make a class that won’t be viable. Can’t understand the constant fear of it is not super duper min max optimal etc. You will play in organized raids anyway, with friends/guild. They’ll accept you, be cause that’s the most important thing.
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Strong heal (with no healing power), extremely good damage that benefit a LOT from alacrity, good ranged damage if needed ( and is part of the meta build ).
The one thing that kinda plays against revenant is the fact they do not benefit from alacrity, other class gain a HUGE amount of damage from that buff, rev rely on auto attack mostly and energy. Also guardian have a strong burst, which is sometime better than substain damage.
Dragonhunter has some interesting utility outside of their Boons. They have a 1,200 pull (Spear of Justice) and the nice thing is that they don’t need to sacrifice a Utility skill to get it like Thieves or Necromancers do. So with Binding Blade and that, a Guardian is a good choice when you need to pull in creatures. Shield of Courage is basically AoE Shelter in front of the Guardian, which is really useful. Wings of Resolve with Leap of Faith has improved Guardian mobility pretty substantially, and the 3,800 heal on the leap can be nice. (Although I suspect any Druid will render the healing redundant)
Blinds, aegis and stability.
Also reflects and condition clear. The most popular DPS revenant build has none of the former and nearly none of the latter.
I’m speaking in general right now, not at someone in particular – because I keep seeing this kind of threads… Can I be enlightened on why people are so afraid of guardians not having a place in raids? Did they start sucking horribly, did they get nerfed while I wasn’t looking? Since revs have a 150 ferocity buff, offensive boons and good damage and no guardian was used in that infamous vale kill, then all of a sudden guardians are out of raids?
And well, 3 years into the game, you still need to be told what a good guardian can bring to a party?

Guard.
.
You only have to worry about being sub-optimal if your playing with the wrong group. With solid communication, good spacing, and some build diversity there is nothing anet will throw our way that peeps won’t overcome.
Crystal Desert
I think they are getting pushed away by rev…honestly
Probably running cleric to provide decent healing and be a tank. If aegis and stability is not needed, maybe they can use traps while kiting away the boss. I agree though that revenant seems to have better offensive and defensive potential than guardian unless if aegis or stability is needed during the fight.
Edit: I forgot that revenant is actually able to provide stability from jalis and lots of healing from ventari. Maybe guardian will be running zerk as usual and be an aegis bot.

Is it even possible to make a heal guardian and heal rev out?
I’m actually not even sure that you need more than 1 healer as druid can already bring in lots of healing. I think what makes guardian better than revenant is because they can provide boons while revenant has no boon at all if they stay in ventari and if they switch back to glint, they will lose the healing tablet.
