When pugs work : P4 Arah
So if I pug this path for DM I’ll really be okay?

Is this for real? I already cringe hard when i end up in 2 hour Fractal Lv48+ runs.

Good job on clearing the path, I respect putting in the effort for getting the path more thank anything else, regardless of how long it took.
And yes of course people will mock for taking 4 1/2 hours clearing it, it’s not like anyone ever failed Arah or took that long when they first did the path.

My first time (6 -8 months ago, before Simin patch) the whole path took ~8hours, Simin ~4.5h. Great experience. It’s all about what you want- I want my kitten handed to me on silver plate, I hate being able to turn my brain off and spam skills and be able to win. Now this path rarely takes me more than 1.5h, should be closer to 1h if people know what to do.
Back when i started the game, a friend of mine hung out in arah for 6 hours or so. Spoiler: They didn’t finish the run.
I didn’t do arah at all until i thought i was good enough to not be a liability.

i pugged Arah P4 for DM a few days ago (with 3 guys who have never done it before and one who never got passed Simin) and got done in about an hour and a half. most of the time (and two wipes) came at the Melandru boss, before we all agreed to just range DPS him and ignore trees.
of course, this was also a pug run with 3 DPS spec’d Warriors, a Guardian, and a Mesmer. it was truly a miracle of the universe to see so much pug competence rolled into one group.

I’m rather clicking skills instead of explaining game mechanics by showing how it shouldn’t be done.
I’m Rather. Rather Dashing. Shoe me you’re a real man, Rather Dashing.
Am i supposed to understand that?
Continuously making jokes of me for clicking skills in the past isn’t very nice.
It’s not like I always mention you’re bad at this game.
YOLO I guess.

I was highly surprised as well to see such a good PUG. Usually you have the one guy who gets tired of the team getting wiped and quits without even saying anything.
I managed to clear P4 with a pug as well, since I’m no good at organizing something like a guild run, and buying a path wasn’t as convenient as I’d hoped. I’m pretty sure at least 1 of the people in the group had cleared it already, but most of the others had not. Previously I had only cleared the path as far as Lupicus. It took us a while (3 hrs? I honestly don’t remember, it may have been closer to 2), but we got it done.
I think a truth of pugging p4 is: be good at Lupicus. Be able to defend yourself (and possibly revive others?) in p2 and manage good damage at the same time. Make sure everyone else in your group is similarly good at him. If your entire group can handle Lupicus, nothing else in p4 should give you any problems past your second attempt.
It’s pretty obvious, and nobody’s impressed.
