So I’ed really like to start running fractals but it seems like every group in lfg is looking for experienced speed runners. Is this a server issue or does it not matter with the megaserver? Also I main a (reaper) necro. Is the whole no necro’s stigma still a thing?

Just advert a group yourself, low levels always fill up really fast, and are absurdly easy.
It’s bad form to ignore people saying “EXP/SPEEDRUN” but it’s also just random crap people throw into their posts to make the run go faster.
Necros who are mini-masters are especially useful for cliffside (the back and forth part). Having 2 good necros can get a high lvl cliffside done extremely quickly. Don’t worry about that at all :P
It’s just that at high fractal levels, the boss already takes a long time to kill, and high-level fractal runners are usually experienced, so it’s not surprising that they want experienced people. Who wants to do an hour-long fractal when you can get someone who doesn’t die as often/hits harder and help your group do it in 30 minutes?
Keep in mind that back in the day, when I got lvl 50, I did at least 50×4 fractals = 200 fractals. Now lvl 50 can literally mean someone just did 50 fractals. Huge difference. Yea, high level fractal runners are picky, but when you get up to lvl 59 (cliffside) and lvl 64 (random-conditions) having a new player really sucks. Ressing a thief 20x because he dies whenever boss looks at him sucks. It just sucks.

The experienced only/speed runner thing hasn’t been my experience for the most part. There are so many people doing fractals now its ridiculous and most just advertise the level they’re on. I was able to pug no problem from 40-50 in the time it took to simply join grps and do the runs. Didn’t have a bunch of jerks in any of them. Low level fractals especially, people tend to be very forgiving of mistakes and just simply realize kitten may happen, although it usually doesn’t.
Reaper is absolutely awesome in fractals. So much control, aoe damage and different setups for suitability. If anyone has a problem with a reaper in a group, you can honestly say it’s their loss.
It’s easier than ever to level up in fractal. People used to run level 50, 40, maybe 30, 20. Now low level are so much easier with a decent reward that most people will want to run some of them. And they are so easy, that you can easily carry someone new without really noticing. We brought a guildmate with no AR up to level 30 the other day without much difference. You shouldn’t have much problem to be accepted in low level these day even if you are new.
So IMO, focus on low level Recommended + 2 other low level. You don’t need any AR until you reach level 20.
Just join any group, don’t even tell them it’s your first time and do what they do.
Now you can choose fractals so just watch a youtube video. Not a big deal..,

Ya. I’d rather have someone that I can guide through/lead who listens than someone that gets us killed. Besides, how are you going to watch a youtube vid for lvl 80s/90s dredge lvl. Situations can really differ in there and you need coordination/communication.
