Guild Wars 2

Hi guys, my friends and I are currently running fractals/dungeons with 3-4 of us at a time and we are looking for a 5th to round out the group and push a little higher. Right now we have a chrono, a ele, a druid, and a revenant. Just out of curiosity, what would be best for that 5th slot, we were thinking thief maybe but wanted to get other opinions. thanks so much for the help

Warrior. Banners, Empower Allies, Phalanx Strenght. Perfect addition for maximum dps.

Yea, a warrior would definitely boost your DPS the most. However, I’ve heard a lot about MM necro builds lately and that they can trivialize most of upper level fractals. However, it’s been a while since I’ve messed around in there and never got to try this myself.

I’d even say that a hammer DH would be a better addition than a thief. You’d get AoE protection, aegis blocks, and extra condi removal. The reflects wouldn’t be entirely necessary with an ele and chrono, but putting wall of reflect on a guard frees up your chrono to run an extra well instead for more alacrity/quickness.

For dungeons warrior is a pretty clear choice for reasons explained above.

For high level fractals, you might indeed consider MM necro, since they lift a lot of pressure from your group. Be careful when running DH. You might think it will buff your group’s defense, but since enemies steal boons, bringing DH (especially an inexperienced one) might be counterproductive. If you feel good enough defensively, warrior again would probably be the best choice. Enemies can steal the might he creates, but they won’t be able to steal those sweet banners and EA.

Edit: For dungeons with harder skips thief would be a good choice. Most of the time you can get away with blasting smoke field created by druid’s smokescale or having chrono do the skip with its own stealth and port the rest. But in dungeons like CM or Arah, your stealth won’t last long enough for the longer skip sections and thief would come extremely handy. Of course you can choose to kill the enemies or skip without stealth, but that’s usually longer and harder.
