Just curious, which class can land the biggest crits in PvE? Screenshots are encouraged as well!

What exactly are we talking about? The most DPS? The biggest damage with a single attack? If we are talking the biggest damage in a single hit (theoretically), I would guess it is elementalist with churning earth. Biggest damage with a single skill would be warrior’s 100b, but it hits multiple times over something like 3-4 seconds. And if we are going by the biggest number shown on screen, you could camp mesmer greatsword auto or elementalist scepter air auto, and you will eventually build up a bigger number than any other skill in the game.

EDIT: But since we are talking about theoretical damage meteor shower, but also conjures (fiery sploitsword) if you want to count those.

In a single shot, I’ve landed a 100k+ Kill Shot crit on the ice elemental in dredge fractal, but you can only get that because you drop the lava debuff on it.

With Impale (sword off hand throw attack), you can rip the sword out and that can crit for >7k in a single hit. That’s not counting the initial hit and the torment stacks.

Eviscerates can top 12k. Arcing slice could probably do about the same, but no one uses that because it’s a silly skill.

Thieves can land, or at least used to be able to, 10k+ single hit crits with back stab.

I won’t comment on eles since I don’t play them.

Or, if you’re really lucky you can land a Kill Shot on a rabbit, you can get 300k+ damage on those poor blighters.

12k eviscerate is really really low

Biggest numbers that I have personally seen. ( this may or may not be what you are lookinfg for but just for random information)

116k hundred blades. from Goku,
30k ghastly claws (necro Axe 2, from a necromancer that shall not be named here)
11k lightning hammer 3rd hit auto ( that was actually something I did)
22 k pistol whip from a thief ( that was also me )
17k backstab from a thief ( again me. )
37k hundred blades is -my- personal best. as well as a 13k evicerate

these are just what -I- have seen…. i am sure others have seen other things that would put me to shame

I’ve done about a 1,6m killshot on a rabbit in frostgorge and afaik killshot has the highest base dmg and multipliers of any single hit skills.

Also…

There was a 40k backstab on magecrusher. Highest coefficient single hit attacks are churning earth and killshot. I believe 100b is the highest damaging channel, but its not the highest dps channel.

I’ve landed ~22k backstab hit from stealth on the Weapon Master in the Molten Facility fractal. That’s with exotic full zerk gear and green/blue trickets, around 5-6 stacks of might and 7-8 stacks of vulnerability on him.

Edit: Glass cannon build thief.

GS Mesmer should be able to get the biggest number.

Flamethrower engi can also get an infinitely large number.

what you guys are talking about, staff guardians hits the hardest and TIMES 5!

Scepter/Shield guard hits so hard, he blows the enemy away.

Mesmer autoattack no crit, no buffs – 357k against WvW-door
When you plug in your Greatsword between the single autoattacks, your autoattack will be 50%~ faster and the numbers gonna be stack

Engineer Big Ol Bomb chained with an Elixer X Tornado should give you the biggest single target spike of them all.

Yeah, I had a random engi always disrupting my dps test in hotm. Finally I lost my nerve and told him to #$ off. He replied “just trying to get 1,000,000 damage to screenshot”… i couldn’t blame him, lol

I know my numbers are small. I said that they would be. Just using them as a point of reference for anyone.

I think OP is asking for biggest single hit dmg, like backstab, or kill shot.
Hundred Blade doesn’t do high single hit dmg. Check combat logs if you think it does.
Same for Lightning Hammer aa3, necro axe2, gua gs2.

This was a while ago and I dunno if we’re counting stuff like this or the first 50% of Brie or anything like that, but big numbers are big numbers.

I don’t think evis can hold up to killshot in potential damage. Both the skill modifier aswell as the weapon damage is lower (about 8% and 10%)

I think my largest single crit (excluding 100 blades) was a 18k eviscerate on Mosman
