Why I exploit (sadly :( ) in FOTM
Another reason why I avoid running dungeons with pugs.
The recent patch fixed the major ones, including the dredge one which wasn’t listed in the patch notes. I’m sure others that wasn’t listed were fixed as well.
Some bugs were fixed, some bugs were Fixed!
some bugs are introduced. making fotm more broken
I’m afraid of getting kicked from more groups for being “slow” when all I want to do is not exploit. Happens in every game where exploits become common place. If you don’t exploit, you get kicked or people avoid you.
Please fix the exploits so I can enjoy Fractals without feeling peer pressure to exploit.
Just build your own groups with the rules laid out before hand.

Anet have an awesome system to implement hotfixes, they can destroy their own game on the fly, no need for drawnout downtime periods and testing.
Life is about making choices. You have to choose to cheat and I have dropped a pug on more than one occasion because they wanted to take ridiculous shortcuts.
If you play GUILD Wars without a guild, you really are missing well over half the game. If I were playing this alone, I’d have put a maybe 200 hours into it and found a better single player game, but when playing with real friends, there is a near endless amount you can do. Guild Wars is a great community game. Don’t play alone.
As far as community MMO gameplay wise – GW2 is horrid in the PvE department. WvW is another story though I suppose.

I guess that’s why so many people DC in fractals then.

Screenshot your fractal level please. If you pug and drop groups for exploits I want to see if your post 20.
Most people would not be exploiting if dungeons were enjoyable and worth their time period. The fact that so many are just proves the point that it’s not really the players at fault here.
@Skotie
Well I wouldn’t say that is it entirely. Its partly it.
For example:
Certain fractals are proportionally out of whack compared to others. The dredge one might as well BE an explore dungeon for how long it is structured: Puzzle/Puzzle/trash/Puzzle/Mini boss with huge HP pool + trash/trash/Final boss with huge HP pool. It is just TOO long, and thus people wanted to cut the time down. I would say if they cut out the fat from some of the fractals it would have gone better. Even the ice level is slightly pushing length due to Svanir bosses having some sort of built in racial of – Too much hp (Go check HoTW for an example).
Make them like the underwater one – Trash/puzzle/boss. Thats ALL we need. Nobody I knew really exploited underwater (or I just didn’t know anyone, but I did a lot of pugs). They didn’t bother because there just really isn’t a need to shorten it, it is a perfect fractal length.

Don’t worry, after the 20th run you’ll want to skip content, I suppose you’re still fresh.
No amount of peer pressure will make me exploit. I dont cheat and never have it makes games boring for me...
Im by no means an amatuer at fractals either. I always advise b4 hand that i do not cheat and will brook no cheating the group... It doesent stop people halfway through deciding to cheat and kicking you fromg roup as you are the only one being true and standing up for what is right!
It is a harder path to be honest and true but it is not the worser path for being so... It is actually far more rewarding and the people you do meet eventually are far better than the ones who kick you for not cheating...
I get to complete maybe 1 run in 5 or 6 due to being kicked for not cheating.. Im glad of the fixes but wish there were harsher punishments for those that cheated knowing FULL WELL that there actions were exploits as stated by a dev on these very forums..
Tis only what you can do for all
The people who exploit dungeons (not talking about skip a trash mob instead of kill EVERY TRASH in our way) are the first ones to complain about when they hotfix the exploit.
Why that? Because they are so addicted to the exploit that they don´t know well how to do it right and fast. And if we ignore the whinning or they will discover another exploit or learn how to be effective or just quit (thanks kitten).

Nah, everyone I run with knows how to do it right and fast, but honestly, a lot of them are just faster with the exploit. Not that it matters, most of them were fixed and/or silently fixed and some maddening bugs were introduced, especially in Cliffside.
Frankly, after all the times I’ve gone through Fractals, grinding and grinding the ridiculously unfavorable RNG for rings, I’m happy for ANYTHING that might make the long and now boring dungeon go faster, and I’m quite happy to start kicking people who don’t share the same views.
But hey, ask Anet to make the rings and back less grindy, and maybe my initial love for Fractals will come back… maybe I’ll even kill trash mobs again. Maybe.

I don’t think you can use logic with these guys…..

That isnt why its called Guild Wars by the way.

At least the cliffside bugs introduced when trying to fix the exploits were in turn fixed quite fast.
Ive pugged my way to fractal 10 and ive never gotten in a group that used exploits of any kind.
You must be unlucky.

I find it really hard to believe that you ran the cliffside fractal legitimately every time you did it from 1-10 unless you did it very recently (post-fix) or simply only got it once or twice. I’ve met people that (prior to the recent patch) honestly had no idea how the fight was supposed to play out without exploits.
Yep, most pugs fails because they have 0 idea how the fractal should be done not cheating, and even call others (way higher than them, with way more experience and 30 def) noobs, too XD
@OP, if you’re getting kicked for being ‘slow’, your server’s community must be pretty poor. I’d recommend going somewhere nicer.
There’s a reason people exploit- it’s because the dungeon has bugs that halt progression.
