Dungeon running is not fun anymore and it costs more in repairs.
Dungeons are definitely in the vanilla phase and could use a serious, comprehensive review.
What they said last week implies that they aren’t finalized with the reward changes.
Would you rather like lockouts?
By that I mean that you would be able to do each dungeon once a day. Period.
Thats how its done in different MMOs and honestly I would welcome this here as well.
At least ppl wouldnt run one path 10x in a row cause its the easiest but they would be somewhat forced to do the whole dungeon if they so badly need to have the gear ASAP.
Maybe not in the best way, but ANet are trying to tell us with this approach that we are not supposed to get our desired gear in 2 days. We are supposed to do those dungeons every now and then and eventually few weeks/months down the road have enough tokens to buy desired item.
We’re being punished because they need to prevent people from burning through the content/have too much gold.
It’s much cheaper and faster than creating new content.
I receive quite enough silver in explorer runs to cover repairs, IF I need any at all.
The new dungeon rewards are buggy, they even said this was a testing phase… Give them time, and feedback.

My incentive to play constantly is now screwed up in a way which prevents me from playing it constantly. People who are willing to – and want to run the same thing over and over are being punished, it’s rediculous. whether i put in 1 hour or 5 hours , that 5 hours should be 5 times as rewarding as a 1 hour session. Simple as that. it’s the same work just not spread out..
We’re essentially being penalised because we enjoy the game and want to play it longer, which ironically we don’t enjoy at all. The game is being conditioned for people who hardly care about it, at the expense of those of us who DO want to get stuck into it. if you want players to explore more paths, then balance it out. don’t have 1 that any PuG can do, and then 2 that make even coordinated guild teams rage quit.
Abolishing the trinity was meant to liberate our choices as players, but you defeat the point of that when you design something around a precise idea which only players fortunate enough to have 20 best buddies on all the time mic’d up running best buddy guild teams coordinated up the ying yang can pull off. i’m a good player, but i dont have that kinda support.
We are being punished because of people that Arah shard farmed or abused an exploit of any way(dev mentioned something about getting 20 levels per run, CoF)

Yeah the dungeons are in bad shape mostly because they scrapped roles in dungeons and then went with old school dungeon design. Its working out horribly. Then to add difficulty they added one shot mechanics and CC spam.
Its just a giant mess, it was a problem before the diminishing returns debacle…..but now its like a total mess. We will never see fucntioning normal dungeon content in this game if you ask me. First we have to fight the dev team on this ridiculous diminishing returns system, that is going to take forver.
I have just about written off GW2 dungeon content to be honest. Turning into one big pile of fail. All they had to do is keep their eye on the ball here….ask one simple question…“is it fun?”
Had they concentrated on that rather than their metrics and statistical analysis of MMOs and their economy and so on they would have plenty of players hanging around.
I usually don’t do dungeons in any game but did AC explorable yesterday with a guild group, two of three paths. I didn’t find the dungeons all that hard as many people have posted. However, the discrepancy between rewards for each member will prevent me from doing this content again .
The patch notes said 60 tokens for each first time path.
Two members got 105 for the two paths
one got the advertised 120 for the two paths
and the other two got a grand total of 75
Needless to say I was one of the lucky ones receiving 75 tokens
Since this was the first time any of the five of us had done the explorable modes
Taught me a lesson and confirmed that dungeons are not the thing to do
LOl at home boy doing AC and saying it wasn’t that “hard.” Well of course not. It’s the first dungeon. Get to Honor of the Waves or Arah Exps and then come back and tell me if you had fun.
