Why aren't dungeons a part of dailies?
good interrogation. And why neither puzzle jumping?
I miss also skill related daily, like evade, condition, condition removal.
The daily change was done so it would diversify people’s playstyles outside their usual comfort zone, and I guess dungeons are done by pretty high percentage of playerbase and thus doesn’t need more people pushed to do them unlike fractals.
Oh, but gathering materials and WvW isn’t something widely done as well that doesn’t need encouraging?
Yeah, I think a dungeon, fractal, event chain, etc, gets me a lot more involved than cutting down 3-4 trees or picking a few plants. I just couldn’t come up with any reason for dungeons not to be included. JPs I sort of understand because you could just park a toon, but it’s not like gathering exactly takes much effort either, so they should be included as well.

Aside from daily gathering in your home instance and the plat farm gathering isn’t that common. Also WvW is Anet’s love child, you know the one they say they love but then forget it at the supermarket.
daily sw jumping puzzle! ;-)
I would like to see a bit more diversity as well. for example, daily x-y fractal and daily fractal seems redundant and means pve dailies can’t be done without doing a fractal (I don’t mind doing them, but still, seems counter-productive).
if they re-added a dungeon daily, I’d rather they’d not split story/explo as they used to though, simply a dungeon daily and people can chose between story and explo as they prefer.
the skill specific dailies were a bit strange. daily dodger was very easy, while daily interrupter only worked well with certain mobs with longer casting times (ok, in sw this would be now very easy to do with thrashers and terragriffs).
if the goal of the dailies is to make us expand our horizons a bit, we should have profession or weapon specific dailies to encourage playing another class, especially for those people who only ever play their main class and nothing else.
since vistas are already a thing, so could diving goggles be (alternatively). same with mini dungeons/puzzles, as they are also more exploration based.
non-timed worldbosses would be nice as well. even if they don’t fix the endless bugs with chains like ogre, at least if it was a daily, enough people would join those maps to create new instances (which are not yet bugged).
They pretend dungeons don’t exist so we have no dungeon patch notes, no new dungeons, no dungeon fixes and finally no dungeon dailies.
Dungeon and Fractals were abandoned years ago , there’s no need to even have this forum tbh , as other people said there’s no patch notes or any new update on them , they don’t even mention them or answer about this

THey did try to get rid of it.
The gathering, forging, and vista dailies are in the game so that new players can still do their daily (they only need to complete 1-2 of those).
The other dailies are designed to get you to participate in content that is being underutilized by the playerbase.
I simply don’t understand this either, shouldn’t the daily system reward people who play the game however they enjoy (whether it’s dungeons or map completion or roleplay or even chestfarms) instead of forcing people into going out of their way to complete the silliest little things?

No. That is the exact opposite of what the entire point of dailies is.
Dailies are a carrot. You have to participate in the INTENDED activities in order to get the carrot. You can ignore the carrot if you want to.

Except the WvW/PVP dailies, you just get those for playing.

Because they want you to play PvP and WvW

TBH I’m glad they added it otherwise I’d never have ended up being carried by players in the top 10 for pvp :P But I like all forms of content in this game so obviously I’m not in the average player base.
As a reminder, they did try to get rid of this Fractals & Dungeons sub-forum in the recent forum reorganization.
Just another step in the process of distancing themselves from the old 5-man dungeon content that they no longer have any interest in.
