Why isn't your Fractals level account bound?
Because your Fractal gear progress obviously isn’t?
Do you even lift, bro?

You do realize it is incredibly easy to gear your alts with pink rings and give them at least 10AR, right?
Probably.
Just writing that which I believe is Anet’s reasoning behind it.
Do you even lift, bro?
If it is, it is a flawed reasoning.
I have 25 AR on characters that never even step a foot inside fractals, that’s well enough AR to do fractal level 30-39, maybe even the 40-49 (at that level, you get down if hit anyway, so…)
Not sure why they haven’t made it account bound, it’s a pain in the kitten to try to go through 30 levels again just so you can play with your alt.

Why doesn’t my alt get credit for the vistas and map completion that I’ve done on my main? How come I can’t port to Orr with my low level Alt if I’ve already completed 100% map with my main? (Sarcasm)
I suspect the reason a lot of people want this is so they can get higher level dailies on all their alts. If they were to account bound your fractal progress, it would also be a likely possibility that means account bound fractal dailies.
How useful would account bound fractal level be if you could only do one fractal daily (per tier) per account a day? It would help a few people out, but I would guess that lots of others would not welcome that change.
In a perfect world, fractal level will match the profession and lowest gear of the characters who did it.
For example, if you do level 20 with an elementalist with 15 AR, then all elementalists with 15 AR would be able to enter level 20. Do it again with 10 AR, and you’ll be able to enter up to level 20 with a 10 AR elementalist.
But now that you can enter any level regardless of your own unlocked level I don’t think it matters as much as before.
I have a warrior toon with 30 AR! Oh yes, she’s personal reward level 3 …
One of the biggest reason its not account bound is due to the fact of how Fractals was implemented into the game. The original framework of Fractals was that it was designed along the same model as your “personal story” that was tied to your characters. As your characters did the quests, the level of your story increased (the recommended level). This design was also the main reason why nobody was able to rejoin fractals after they crashed/dc’d. The process of having to redesign the framework of fractals and implement it to an explorer type dungeon has taken them 2 months. I presume the reasoning behind making it like the personal story has more to do with the “multiple checkpoint reviving upon wipe” concept as there is no waypoints in fractals nor personal story instances.
