Why pay for not being level 80? in AC?
The gear for all dungeons is level 80. There are groups that don’t require level or you can always start your own group.
Are you saying that people are selling AC now?
Also, this whole lvl 80 for lvl 35 content complaint has been happening a lot lately. I’m wondering the source?
But yeah, make your own parties! I always get groups when I post. And you starting your instance is safer anyway.
Funny story, I posted for fractals with my level 60 something ranger. People came! We had fun!

Get in the instance, make your own party and make sure you put all lvls welcome. Might take a little bit longer to fill but no one will complain.
As for AC sellers… There’s loads of them on the European servers. I don’t get it, it’s one of the easiest dungeons in game.
Wasn’t there recently some guy who posted he did AC (p1?) with all low levels (but only really had 3 low levels) … find those 3 and make a group!
As for people wanting level 80’s…. even though you’re supposedly downscaled, the algorithm is just not done well — gear makes a huge difference.
Lower level characters don’t have all their traits and skills unlocked, which puts them at a disadvantage against a fully levelled character. That, and as mentioned, level scaling doesn’t take gear into effect, thus a level 35 character in full masterwork (or rare, if rare even exists at 35 yet) will still have significantly lower stats than a level 80 downscaled character in full exotic.
So while the dungeons certainly can be done with lower level characters, people doing explorables tend to be doing them for farming purposes and want to get them done as quickly as possible, not dragging along someone who’s contributing significantly less.
I ran AC at level 30 with a friend of mine, also level 30. No 80s in the group. Ran exp in our 40s, again, no 80s.
I also did Fractal 1 with a level 7 and two mid 30 characters. It was fine. People who complain or kick you are speed runners. It’s a certain group. Start your own, or look for Noob Friendly groups.
As a sometimes seller, sometimes purchaser, let me say, it is frustrating that more dungeons aren’t sold, because it was a cheap way of leveling since crafting 80 got the axe with 500 cap in crafts.
And at 1.2g for a dungeon run of AC, you should pipe down because you’re actually making money buying that. Nobody said it was “disgusting” for a seller to make money off of 6 buyers while those 6 buyers ALSO made money any time someone sold CoF in GW1; it was very well favored among what basically amounted to nearly everyone entering Doomlore Shrine.

My biggest issue with taking sub-80 people in a party is how difficult it is to fill. If you have an “only 80s” party, it will fill quickly and you can be on your way. If you take sub 80s, most people joining you will leave the party and your party slots will go up and down like a yoyo. The honest truth is I’ve had plenty low level parties that are far superior to high level ones.

I don’t think the OP had the issue with them selling the path. The problem to me seemed to be that they wanted gold simply because she wasn’t on a level 80 charrie and it was for AC. She didn’t mention what the title of the LFG said or if it was her own or not. So we don’t have the full story.
I think that’s true Seera…. I’m not entirely sure I understand what the OP is getting at.

One thing could be an issue. I had a level 45 member in a group before who thought it is OK to have level 35 gear because this is a level 35 dungeon. Apparently, armor scaling doesn’t work that way…

Back at launch I was able to do all the dungeons at level. These days though people just want to get them done. Just going to have to start your own group. I’m almost ready for Arah, but it seems like EVERY group in the queue is for sale. I’m not paying gold to do a dungeon, so I’ll be starting my own group.

Assuming that downscaling works similarly to upscaling in WvW, it scales the gear relative to your level.
This is easily demonstrated in WvW while upscaled. Wear some +vit and watch your health pool drop as you level up. Keep everything (including trinkets) within 5 levels and you’ll keep up with the 80s.
So, in dungeons a level 45 wearing 35 gear would be something like a level 35 wearing level 27 gear.
But … who cares? If you’re taking low levels you’re just there for the fun of it, not doing a speed run or whatever.

To be honest, I didn’t mind at all until that mighty person said she didn’t need to stack and enjoyed face tank Spider Queen and trash mobs in her under-leveled armor. It wasn’t fun being a zerker ele who had to revive the guardian in those sticky situations…

LOL dont buy any AC run.
Pro-tip: (if you can) in empty party create the instance then enter the dungeon. List as “casual run”. No one boots because they A. seen ad title B. you own the instance if someone gets snippy.
Unless a player knows how to use that profession well, below 80 will be sub-par to maxed chars
