Why ruining CoF ruined the game beyond repair for me
It’s a shame you’re being so melodramatic about something you don’t have any idea about.
There’s a drama queen somewhere whose thunder you are stealing who is not going to be happy about it.
P.S. It’s just cosmetic. The gear doesn’t matter for any of that other stuff you want to do in any meaningful way.
The recent changes Anet are doing lately is like d3 all over again.
Actually that is a good point. The people that rush don’t get punished. The People who don’t rush get punished, but they weren’t going to rush anyway, as anyone who’s rushed has rushed already >.<
If these changes are really to slow things down so people don’t burn out on content super fast and have nothing to do, well Id like to know just how many people really rush through content vs those who take thier time. Im the kind of person who love to do instances over and over in a short period, but that doesn’t mean I just do instances non stop till I’m done with them. I just like to do things in spurts. Instances non stop for 3 days, then something else, then crafting. My highest character is only 40s and I started during the 3 day head start >.<
Come on now.. some people were doing CoF 40 times + per day.. it was broken and you should be HAPPY that they fixed it, that gear isn’t stuff people are meant to obtain in a matter of days.. if you could get any full armour set in a matter of days then well, after MATTER OF DAYS people would be yelling the game has no endgame content.. it’s by design that it’ll take ages.
Just do a CoF run every couple of days.. guess what, that gear isn’t going anywhere.. you will get it.
This game is an MMO afterall, if you think any MMO can survive without any timesink type content then you are kidding yourself.
This kind of stuff was a staple of design in gw1.. and people were okay with it.
Timesink content doesn’t have to mean you have to figure out the most efficient method to farm and then do that and nothing but that until you reach your goal, that is plain stupid.. chill out, play the game.. theres no sub even.. you can drop this and go play something else for 2 months.. come back and still obtain your CoF gear!
Chill :P

Still not fair to make such change after a lot of people got to make fast runs. What I found more disturbing is the answer from the designer team that they wanted us to fight the mobs in the lava and gate event, that is a total lie to me and an excuse.
I don’t care that I won’t get the CoF looks, but I do care a lot about fair play.

Awesome idea, DON’T play the game you paid for…
It’s comment like this… this kind of nonsensical drivvle that drives me batpoop crazy.
Play the way you want, til we tell you not to then if you did when you could it’s gravy and you’re home free, feel free to troll the forums about it too and claim everyone else is a bad or unskilled.
This is going to end up with akittencomment from an Anet dev that results in a “are you thankful” esque spam campaign.
Tell me again what was the D3’s final stance on the unrest and exodus of players again? was it to keep up the “we know best” attitudes and smarmy responses?
or was it to finally shut up and accept they dropped the ball and try desperately to make core gameplay changes that stopped turning the game into a second profession and pushed a RmAH on the players and invited federal action due to missing transactions?
this all reeks of bad handling of what was supposed to be a step AWAY from this new mentality that game devs seem to have gotten.
“buy our game, then continue to support it via poorly disguised mandatory microtransactions because everything else is a pain in the rear, even when we don’t add ANY real new content to it”
funny how that another F2p game never has to do that and is making money hand over fist
League of Legends…. proving that if you treat your playerbase like people, they’ll shower you in cash they won’t always love you or agree with you, but if you scalp em like other games companies have taken to trying, they’ll leave you with nothing.
They just don’t seem to learn anymore
“ArenaNet decided to destroy the only good dungeon”
Oh please, you didn’t realize something was wrong when any other dungeons was way harder than Magg path? hell even story mode was harder.
nah, Nazario is right. People abused the karma food items, they got banned and their items were removed. People abused the karma armor, they got banned and their items were removed. People abused the CoF dungeon, … and received no punishment.
Arenanet has constantly pushed the aspect of “this is your story.” Well, my story is to explore everything in the game. Unfortunately, that shafts me in the end. I didn’t hit level 80 fast enough, therefore I wasn’t able to abuse all the bugs. While everyone else were glitching out, I was uncovering Quaggan secret treasure. When people were spending their entire karma savings on chili poppers, I was playing with snow leopard babies. Was it fun? Yes. Do I regret it? Heavily. I should have been a total kitten, grinded my way to level 80 and exploit the game to the fullest.

I wish you had made your comparison of a massively complex mmo, with multiple economies and multiple systems of mechanics that players have access to.. to league of legends earlier in your post.
So I could have stopped reading earlier. If you could abuse lol in the same way players have in this game Riot would clamp down on it in the blink of an eye.. I don’t think it has anything to do with how they treat there player base.. they are entirely different.
All you people that want all the armor you can get right way go play WoW. SERIOUSLY. If you want to look like every other person in a matter of days when you hit max level go play WoW.
