Will GW2 eventually get large scale dungeons?
Scaling dungeons would be great.
Anything that allows us to take more than 5 players into a dungeon would be fantastic.
They likely will not make more difficult dungeons since you’ll have people complain that they’re too difficult. Dungeons were easy pre-nerf and you still have people complaining post-nerf.
Hmm.. I suppose if you had enough people this would be great. I’m in a max’d out guild and was in another max’d limit guild before that. Neither one would have enough people to run something with 10 people I dont think. Its usually a challenge to get 5 together from guild. I know thats amazing that out of 500 guild members you can’t even get 5 people together but I guess a lot of those are alts or casuals? If it wasn’t for gw2lfg I’d never get groups for anything!
Bigger dungeons, yes.
More difficult dungeons, yes.
but larger group sizes probably won’t happen.
I’d like this idea as long as it doesn’t create a zerging mentality like the open world. Perhaps, have a couple groups coordinate at different areas of the map doing different things to help everyone progress (The Deep had some of this).

That may be a case of what the focus of the guild is. I run a dungeon contacts list (I don’t consider it a technical guild, given that it’s mainly used as a roster for dungeon runners) that contains 35 people (usually 10 people on during US night times), and we form groups quite easily nearly every day because it’s so heavily focused on doing dungeon runs at that time frame. Everyone pretty much knows each other. Numbers don’t always make up for quality, in my experience, and I was from a 1000+ member guild alliance back in GW1.
Larger group sizes may sound good on the surface but it would create alot more additional problems.
There’s already a problem with people ragequitting/leaving in middle of some instances it would only get worse if you have more people.
Coordination would also be a nightmare for pugs.
well I think that if anet fixed the way you found a party, rage quiters and leavers wouldnt be a problem. Plus im talking about doing it with people you know not some randoms that could leave at the drop of a hat.
they should have public dungeons. don’t know why there’s only one, and it’s tiny. i ain’t talkin jumping puzzle neither. an actual dungeon area that’s public.
also font of rhand sort of counts, but i would rather they not be hidden by events, just there.
Game mechanics like aoe (not sure how it applies to aoe used by npcs) and healing limited to 5 players could be a problem there.

Yes. We’re getting Guild missions.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
Guild Mission is not a dungeon, it will be some open-world event…
I’d love some 8-12ppl dungeons, would be rlly amazing.
While its nice having 5man dungeons too, in case you dont have enough guildies/friends online at the moment, it doesnt mean that every dungeon has to be 5man.
Add some huge dungs like UW or The Deep for 8 to 12 ppl for the sake of diversity.
I don’t know about you, but I would like to see smaller dungeons. With 5 people it’s enough of a clusterkitten already. I’ve been trying to solo or 3-man some dungeons recently, and it puts a whole new spin on the bosses when you can’t just ignore every attack and try for maximum dps (Almost in a min/max way, like cof P1 speedrunners).
With less people, every action you do means more.
And maybe with less people they would realize that damage sponge bosses are not kittening fun asdf
really bad engineer
well by your argument what you need is solo dungeons which they also had atleast one of in GW1, while i would enjoy solo dungeons aswell theres already an open coment panel discusing this, please keep on topic. As to open dungeons and increased player dungeons i would enjoy and like to see both and i count guild missions as guild “quests” not dungeons, guild "dungeon"s would also be cool.
While i can clearly assume no average player knows if there will be larger scale dungeons i meant for this page to be a direct question to the delopers. Even more as an indirect question to the comunity as to see if the majority shared my desire for this, killing two birds with one stone by giving the GMs’ a type of starting point or further data.
I hope so and right now i’d take ANYTHING just give me a new dungeon already. Im so sick and tired of incredibly boring fractals.
I hope we get 12 man dungeons like the deep and urgoz warren from gw1.
They should work on fine tuning their small scale dungeons before trying anything more. Would a 15 man Dungeon group be 2 Guardians, 10 Warriors, 3 Mesmers? :P
I support the idea of this thread. It’s something that I’d like to see happen. Great for guild runs as well. Makes for a good game.
