Will ascended salvaging ever be addressed?

I think he means salvaging at an affordable cost rather than 1 gold per try.
I doubt it. On the other hand, infused rings actually salvage at decent rate. I spent several of my shards upgrading my non infused rings just to salvage them.
Otherwise, there is still a way to make ~5s by selling them to vendor.
This is exactly what players wanted.
They wanted to salvage the rings, you can now. Player demands and requests originally did not go past that.
I just vendor excess rings, you get enough matrices from the fractal dailies regardless.
Vendor uninfused rings, salvage infused ones.
How do u know IF infused salvages are better than normal rings?
The ascended salvage kit is way too expensive, it should be less than 10 silver. Also the Silver-Fed Salvage’o’matic should be upgraded with the ascended salvaging ability at the same (heavily reduced) price.

I don’t mind 1g/try, except that rings never seem to drop anything other than agony resistance, which is currently worth less than 1.5 silver.
However, I’m not sure how ANet could improve the ascended drop rate in fractals (as they plan to do later this month), increase the value of ascended salvaging, and maintain the type of balance they want for ascended/legendary gear.
So rather than make major changes to the salvaging rates, I’d rather that they offer some guaranteed conversion opportunities (which I’m sure would have to cost somewhat more). For example: turn any four rings into any ring with the stats of your choice; trade X rings directly for an Agony Infusion +Y; and/or combine four identical rings in the forge for an attuned ring with the same stats.
I’d suggest simply putting vials / globs / shards of condensed mists essence to the loot table.
Those wouldn’t hurt the market in any form since they’re account bound. Some guys like me just don’t have that much drop luck and I still don’t have enough for fractal back / legendary back / infused rings, so… it would be at least SOME reason to salvage my rings…

Are you sure you’re salvaging rings, not amulets or accessories? I always seem to get at least two stabilizing matrices out of salvaged rings, most of the time three (and on a very rare occasion 20 out of one ring). If you really hurt for gold, sell two matrices per ring salvaged at the trading post to cover your costs.

Yeah, I’m just as confused as this guy. Rings always drop at least two stabilizing matrices which is worth about 1.5g right now. Salvaging rings will result in a profit with the current TP prices…. (And like he said, you have a chance of salvaging way more than 2 matrices from rings resulting in HUGE profits.)
IDK what game some of you are playing. I’ve salvaged ascended rings extensively, and have consistently seen that I get the following results:
From a normal ascended ring (not infused), there’s a chance of dropping: 2, 3, 5, 10, or 20 stabilizing matrices.
From an infused ascended ring, you have the same drop chance, but there will be two separate drops (two groups that are each picked from that set of 2, 3, 5, 10, or 20).
Granted, the 20 drop is rare. I’ve only seen it once. But I frequently get the 5 or 10.
Even if all you get are 2 stabilizing matrices from a normal ascended ring, you are making about 1g and breaking even at current BLTC prices. If you get more matrices than that, you profit – often BIG. I’ve gotten 15 matrices (one stack of 10 and one of 5) from infused rings several times… that’s over 6g of profit at current prices.
I have never gotten agony resistance or dark energy from a ring.
So TL;DR: You are guaranteed to at least break even from salvaging a ring, and have a chance at huge profit. Will ascended salvaging ever be addressed? As far as I can tell, if BLTC prices remain consistent, I don’t see why it would ever need to be addressed…
I swear I got 4 yesterday from one. Maybe it was infused and I didn’t realize it…

I’ll try again. Maybe I did it when the matrices were lower valued and ignored them. I’d be happy to be wrong about it.
edit: oops. I was indeed wrong. I did all my initial salvaging when the expansion was HoT off the presses…and at that time, the 2/ring stabilizing matrices were worth a lot less than cost of the kit. As a result, I completely ignore the drop rate. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.

(My friend got 50 from a regular ring the other day. Looks like we don’t actually know the upper limit on how many matricies you can get from rings yet XD)
