Its technically not a big because Im stacking my Fractal Encryptions and chests till Anet fixes Fractals bit by bit, but…………something “frustrating” happened to me that could’ve been avoided if we can buy (they used to be buyable, I swear I remember buying them) X Mists Essence from the BLTC:
While trying to get an (Infused) Attuned ring from the Mystic Forge I accidentally messed up on the Shard of Crystalized Essence…which in turn messed up my number for Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence…which sigh in turn messed up my number of Vial of Condensed Mist Essence and frustrated me and “forced me” to rage open my Chest of the Mist…chests. Whom lastly thank the RNG gave me the EXACT (infused) ring that I was planning on converting to an (infused) attuned ring.
Sadly this left me with 0 Mists Essences, 0 Chests of the mists, and used more than half of my Fractal Encryption (I thought they dropped Mists Essences but I was wrong )
LongShort story for the lazy readers can we have the Fractal Mists Essences back in store please?
Its not a “big” problem (trust me there are way more priorities here) but my whole episode of me mumbling to myself for 30 minutes losing ALL my essences and having to get them again is just frustrating :/
Stop doing swamps of the mists and you won’t struggle with vials/globs/shards
This is an ignorant thing to say. Firstly if all he did was swamp he wouldn’t have those other Mist essences to begin with. And secondly the drop rate on essences in terrible. I can count the amount of times i got some without have to farm them on my fingers. And I’ve done a few hundred fractals.
Your grievances are completely misplaced in this thread.
@OP: Farm scale 52 mobs at the beginning with MF boosters/food for shards of mist essence, either solo or with a party. It’s really the only way to get them at a decent pace.

I don’t know, I always had enough of those essences back then, or at least tons of shards to turn them into globs/vials.
The problem is that these days, mostly fractals with barely any trash are run, thus resulting in barely any of those drops. Believe it or not, mists essences are actually rather common drops, which you got more than enough of back then when you got forced into certain fractals. Of course you didn’t have enough for all rings + a surplus in a matter of a few days, but it was enough to properly progress; still is, too.
So yes, if he starts running fractals with plenty of trash he will have less problems with mists essence.
Essences drop from the trash mobs, so if you want more, you need to visit those instances more often.
Volcanic is popular for farming because of the easy fight at the start (dredge is a not-so-close second) — kill the initial foes, exit to lobby, rinse, repeat. I’d say that a shard every 5 tries is typical (at least, when my group has tried, we’ve gotten one per party of 5 each time — small sample size though).
The popular instances have fewer trash mobs (one of the reasons they are faster): Swamp (especially Bloom) and Molten Boss.
