I was clearing Wing 3 with my usual group last night and Xera was super wonky. Were there undocumented changes?

Our (chrono)tank had 1.4k toughness but Xera was randomly swapping aggro to squad members with 1k toughness (eles, druids – not classes with toughness traits/skills). She was twitching and sliding around when this happened.

We were taking a lot more damage and stacking up derangement much faster than we were in previous weeks. I think orbs weren’t getting destroyed if they collided with someone.

Anyone else?

I also noticed this today at xera today as well. I had 1.5k and she did this once from what I noticed.

Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…

It’s just buggy, kc also randomly ignores that you are on circles, and I had a run of escort helping my friends where we tested wargs and they just afk in front of Glenna lol.

Its not only wing3, we had matt yesterday not shooting any projectiles (and so werent able to reflect them to break his bubble -.-) several times, without anyone standing inside feedback.

Patch just broke raids :/

Seems like Matthias and all wing 3 encounters are bugged atm, few threads on Reddit about it.

Its not only wing3, we had matt yesterday not shooting any projectiles (and so werent able to reflect them to break his bubble -.-) several times, without anyone standing inside feedback.

Patch just broke raids :/

We had that on a run and we found it seems to be that Any thing player or mob will cause the projectiles to not be reflected. Meaning at the moment Necromancer is pretty much unplayable in that fight for general clears since the minions can perma block the ability to take the stacks off.

Bosses are on characters with lowest toughness all over the places….And thats really pretty annoying when you have 11k hp and you have to deal with bosses while your tankier teammates can go make coffe cuz nobody on them while you have to make little miracles in that fights….

Sloth, Sabetha, trio and theescord both never agroed on toughness. Just in Case you are refering to those.

And Xera is indead bugged like hell atm.

  • Sometimes people cannot be rezzed (bugged since launch)
  • People skyrocketing after taking a leyline (happened to me today, i was gliding upwards all the time, needed to stop gliding every 1-2 secs or i would die because i would be out of the playabla zone)
  • Xera agroing minions sometimes
  • all mechanics at once (laser, half area aoe, the thing with special action key, people getting ported to another platform, CC)

The last one might be indended, but is in 99% of all cases a direct wipe at <20% life.

I would like to add that on KC i used GS 3 skill into the wall while a ghost was on the wall and it gave me the “your leaving the playable area” and then it killed me before i could stop it. never happen before. Also had the same issues stated earlier with reflects and projectiles. Escort wargs would teleport (that was fun lol). On KC he would not go to the center after the orb knocking around phase. Looking forward to Xera lol

The last one isn’t “intended” per se but it is something that can happen if your DPS lines up with the timer in a certain way. As long as you’ve done a decent job clearing bloodstones it shouldn’t be an issue though.

The jetpack bug has been around for a while. It is related to being at a certain depth in the ley line as it activates. Just be sure not to jump too early and you will avoid it. If you do get it, you can clear it by having the affected player(s) leave the zone and come back in.

Xera doesn’t just aggro to minions now, she also leaves the aggro of the highest toughness player to target other players. This can be extremely deadly if it triggers right before a frenzy attack.

The res bug sucks but at least you can get around it with warrior banners, the druid elite spirit, glyph of renewal, etc.

The orb fails to respond and gets stuck while pushing is another KC bug.
The double fixating the same target is back as well (had this happen to me 3x consecutively yesterday)
Fixate randomly swapping targets is also back (probably resulted in the bug above)

Right now wing 3 is close to in an unplayable state with the bugs it has which is a real shame.

So far they fixed the mobs teleporting around. Xera is still all kinds of bugged and a lot of other bosses as well.

we done xera today after many tries. xera doesnt follow tank after CC in the second phase (50% hp) .. Matthias… he is the pain in the butt atm…. /cry reflect doesnt work all the time…. pls fix this issue.

Xera still has her old bugs like not being able to rez a downed person, but the new ones are that she stops following the tank. When I was tank it happened when she went invuln for me much like matthias so possibly same bug. The other rly annoying one is the orbs hitting the minions which make your stacks go up much higher than before. Again not sure if this is the same issue as matthias’ projectiles being body blocked but it all sounds very similar.

1. Just fyi this bug doesn’t actually affect the fight much; if the word “invulnerable” didn’t pop up no one would ever notice. Not to say it isn’t worth fixing, but it’s insignificant compared to some other bugs.

3. The only for sure new bug on Xera is that she sometimes changes aggro for an unknown reason. It appears she can aggro on non-highest-toughness players as well as occasionally non-player allied units. It happens at least a few times every run so this is not a rare bug at all. As such I’m sure there are plenty of twitch/youtube videos out there of it happening. I can record or find something tonight if it will help; this is currently the worst bug across all three wings (besides the matthias pea shooter being absorbed which you say is being fixed already).

As far as what cranos mentioned about the orbs being harder than before, I’m not sure there’s actually anything bugged with it. It was obviously bugged before when pets, minions, etc would block the red orb effect (but not the animation) so even if you didn’t avoid them you often weren’t affected by them. Now I think they just pass through non-player allies and people suck at avoiding them because they never had to before. When one hits a player it makes an aoe and since everyone is stacked multiple players get hit. Unless someone can confirm that a gravity well is actually produced when an orb hits a pet or minion I think this is working as intended.

A few recent reddit threads have made it apparent that several well known bugs have been unknown to the devs, so in case they are unknown, these are the other bugs I know of in W3. I’m excluding some minor bugs I haven’t encountered in a long time because considering the amount I raid if they’re that uncommon then they aren’t really a big deal.

Xera:

  • The glider can turn into a “jetpack” that always accelerates you upward. This seems to happen if the glider is deployed while at a low point in a ley line as the ley line becomes active due to a bloodstone being destroyed. The affected player must leave the instance to remove the bug. This bug is uncommon and easily avoidable.
  • Players sometimes cannot be resurrected with the interact button. They can still be resurrected with skills such as battle standard, druid elite spirit, SnR, glyph of renewal, etc. Unlike the general desync issue that prevents resurrection typically to players with poor latency, this appears to be an equal opportunity bug unique to the xera fight, since there is no location you can walk to which will allow you to res the downed player (as opposed to the general bug where walking to their server side location allows you to res them). This bug seems to have gotten much less common since launch so it’s possible that some causes of it were fixed already, or maybe it’s just because we go down less lol. I’d say it happens less than 5% of the time someone goes down, but I have no idea what causes it.
  • The space in the middle of the arena counts as a wall for the purposed of some skills, most notable revenant’s Jalis hammers which will be immediately turned off if activated near the middle of the arena. This bug is present in 100% of runs and is unbelievably annoying if you are a revenant.
  • Traps (and possibly other player created objects) are not removed after a wipe on Xera. So if you have a trap at the location of an orb on the first island, it will knock it somewhere as soon as the orb spawns.

Keep Construct:

  • In some situations moving to the very edge of the area will give you the “leaving the playable area” message and will kill you. This may be more common when using movement skills like Warrior Greatsword 3 towards a wall. I haven’t experienced this bug myself simply because I never run against the wall lol, but I have heard someone mention it every few runs even as recently as last night so it definitely is still there.
  • Maybe not a bug but when the green circles spawn, any existing phantasms will change their fixate to a new player. If your group is on top of the fight it isn’t a big deal, especially since it happens 100% of the time, but in situations where you’re falling behind it can cause a wipe if there are two phantasms up and the aggro swaps to players on the opposite side as the previous fixate.
  • There is a bug where KC can land in the burn phase in places other than the middle, and another where the orb cannot be moved by any player, but these are extremely rare (have only seen a couple times in hundreds of runs) and I have no idea how to reproduce them.

Siege the Castle

  • Maybe not a bug but certainly not intended – towers can be captured without killing any white mantle by knocking them back to the outside of tower with a skill such as glyph of tides or big ol’ bomb. It appears that the point capture radius does not include the edges of the tower. So you can jump up to the tower, mesmer focus pull -> glyph of tides, you immediately capture the tower and can use the turret to kill the white mantle you just stole the tower from. This also immediately spawns mcleod when done on the last tower.

Those are the bugs I know of in wing 3. If someone has info on how any of these are produced it would be nice to know so I can avoid them =P hope this helps, thanks for the feedback in this thread crystal.

- 26th July introduced bugs:

1) Tank lose aggro, xera randomly turn and follow someone else, not related to tough or trait. An easy way to replicate it is when you land on xera platform at the beginning of last phase or moving from a side to the mid.

2) Minions, pets, illusions now get hitted from red orbs and make them to spaw gravity wells. This bring the ground to be covered of gravity wells even with people dodging all red orbs and\or kiting the boss. The pressure it’s the double of before. This is in my opinion the worst bug you added on last patch, boss is still doable but kinda rng.

3) Xera go immune to some players for a bit of time.

Again, are you really sure that minions, pets, and illusions cause gravity wells to spawn? I still think it’s just players not dodging them appropriately. I did the fight a couple days ago with 3 necromancers, all spawning minions, and if gravity wells were really being spawned as orbs pass through minions it wouldn’t just be double the pressure, it would be impossible for anyone to survive longer than a few seconds. Every single red orb would be spawning 10+ gravity wells, and it would be extremely obvious based on the number of red circles on the ground. I’m not saying it’s definitely not bugged, but the way people have been describing it in this thread seems impossible.

I did a bug report on how this happened a while ago in the bug forum but I can post the details again. In order for it to bug you will need to:

  • Break the cc bar.
  • KC need to perform the AoE jump.
  • The AoE jump can never finish the execution and the land marker must be visible.
  • The spawn core phase begins. (The Land AoE marker will disappear about 1 or 2 seconds later).

Hopefully this will help figuring it out.

The thing is in recent weeks I have had this exact thing happen several times and he still spawned in the middle. So it’s possible it was already fixed.

Another thing to consider about this bug is when it happened in the past (we’re talking well over a month ago here) KC jumped into the air around when his bar was broken, and even though he never came back to the ground the landing attack still took place and downed me despite there being no animation. So despite the animation suggesting he was “in the ceiling” or whatever it seemed that the game still considered him to be at the point where he smashed me and after the ballwhacker phase he wasn’t transported from that location to the middle.

Have you had this bug happen recently, or are you in the same boat as me where it doesn’t really happen anymore?

Thanks for the update. Sorry for being brief about Xera but I was at work and most of the issues have been doxumented in this thread and elsewhere. You guys have done amazing with all 3 wings so it’s just a little jarring to see so many issues with 1 boss.

To elaborate on the Matthias invul it happens after being sacrificed, but not every time.

Yeah, i’m kinda sure, i did it 2 times on prev week (before and after the patch), and the difference was really noticiable.

Moreover if you check the reddit link i posted you can see many other people, including dnt, reporting the same thing.

Anyway i’ve not said 1 single orb to spawn multiple time gravity, i’ve said 1 orb to spawn a well even when hitting a pet\illusion\minion.

Dunno if this happens everytime or under particular circunstances but happens (that’s why i’ve spoken of RNG)

This bring me to wonder about:

- Does flesh wurm bug work again? (not tested)

- Has one of the 3 necroes with you used flesh wurm?

In that case this could explain why you didnt experienced it.

Or dunno, i’m just wondering.

Again, are you really sure that minions, pets, and illusions cause gravity wells to spawn? I still think it’s just players not dodging them appropriately. I did the fight a couple days ago with 3 necromancers, all spawning minions, and if gravity wells were really being spawned as orbs pass through minions it wouldn’t just be double the pressure, it would be impossible for anyone to survive longer than a few seconds. Every single red orb would be spawning 10+ gravity wells, and it would be extremely obvious based on the number of red circles on the ground. I’m not saying it’s definitely not bugged, but the way people have been describing it in this thread seems impossible.

yes confirm this as well from last night tries.
also with Xera not following tank, it happens often after the CC phase after 50% hp. she seemed to be stunned for longer and not responding to tank. our tank she was calling out loud in TS each time, Come to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee xera!!! and xera was just standing there for like good few seconds (5 sec approx?)

Happened 3 times today in the first phaze long after the CC for me so I think it’s quite random. She doesn’t just stand there tho. She goes invuln for the tank, turns around to someone else and starts dmging the group.

I just noticed that npc enemies no longer treat daze as a stun, then can move while dazed since one of the recent patches. Thought I’d share, since this was fixed when everything else broke.

This specifically has to do with new Raid Bugs that i’ve noticed after the quarterly update.

I was running druid for the raid events.

Vale Guardian
The guardian spun in the middle of the arena when switching focus.
From what I can gather, our tank went downed in one of the damage zones and switched its focus to the next highest toughness. (Me) But I was behind the group running the green AOE circles. While the tank got revived, the Vale Guardian got stuck in the center spinning for a good 10 seconds.

I assume it could be a pathing error caused by the reward chest after defeat?

After exposed core phase, during burn phase, he would spawn on the edge of the map. Most notably hugging the North Eastern side.

Since when does Matthias aggro on Toughness? I noticed only random aggro, but he seems to select one target to shoot on for the whole try.

Bosses were updated a couple months back, when the tank goes down the boss will continue to focus on them(unless something like a warrior ressing goes higher). However vg in general has issues with the middle circle, just pull him wide and hope your tank doesn’t get ported. He’s had issues with the middle since release.

Matthias doesn’t have a tank, he has always changed target often. It seems to always be to the furthest person, toughness doesn’t matter to him.

KC spawning off to the side occurs when you break his bar mid leap animation, though it is actually a bug.

I have not noticed KC do the jump and break it bug. So it could be fixed. When my group did w3 this Tuesday we did somehow managed to bug KC entirely causing the orb in the push phase to never spawn. The only way for us to fix it was to reset the instance. The following happened in the boss area.

  • The orb ring AoE was always visible but no damage was given, same goes for push phase.
  • The orb never spawned as mentioned.
  • The phantasms that interrupts the orb was stationary and visible from the beginning of the fight. In push phase they remained stationary (probably due to no orb).

At the moment I have no clue on what could have caused it to fail. This only happened since last patch for my group. Hopefully someone have some more knowledge on what can cause it. Have not really seen this one being mentioned yet.

So i think i have more information on the orb not moving bug.

I encountered it tonight (forgot to record) but what i did notice is this.

There are destructible area’s of the arena where the ghost spawn. This spawns rubble into the combat area. My hunch is this isn’t despawning correctly (much like the guild hall terrain bug). The locations of where the usual object spawning/clipping happens is in the screenshots

@ TexZero, I can confirm those spots as being particularly bad with the orb not moving. I’ve gotten stuck on them while running soccer ball myself a number of times. Hopefully those images help them debug what is going on there.

it didn’t happen to me with pushing cores in kc.. I do it with staff as druid. it won’t move “if” I dont have it targeted hiihiii :P but can be quickly corrected – no stress
