Your top 5 hardest bosses?
Legendary grawl shaman
But I enjoy this fight so much! It’s the best designed encounter in the whole game
Edit: or more exactly the only encounter that has a design
Retired elementalist theorycrafter
Two of my favorites are the Clockwork Tree and Alphard (when she used to oneshot with bombs)
EdIt: Just realised you meant the top 5 “hardest”. In my post I mentioned the ones I liked the most fighting.
(edited by Quickfoot Katana.8642)
Mai Trin at scale 40+, really not much of a competition.
Lupi is probably up there, but he would be easier with his animation glitches and NPC-agroing fixed.
1. Mai Truck
2. Legendary Imba Shaman
3. Archie the Diviner
4. Moss the Boss
5. Giganticus Whoopicus
^
The ones I found the hardest before I could practice them. Some I find well designed, some I don’t. Actually, I find Mossy one of the worst and most poorly designed bosses in the game. Still, he made me sweat quite a lot.

Couldn’t agree more.
- Huge damage 180°+ spammy melee swings with very short cast.
- Cannot remove or counter in any good way his stealth, just a time-gate (aside from getting hit to remove it, which is a roulette because you might get crit).
1. Legendary Grawl Shaman
2. Kudu .__."
3. Kodan’s Bane the Hunter and his pet
4. Mossie
5. Lupi
- doranduck, 2016 on Lore in Raids
Mossman is easy with the right tactic fgs him aegis wall and done under a minute.
Also he has a sad history of being exploited. What makes him the dumbest boss in game. Someone should make a comic about him. It would be very funny
M: Hey u guys on the tree stop hitting me come down fight like real man!
PC : comming down so u can hide every 10 seconds?
M: …… How do u?
literally everything is easy if you fgs it, why even say that
1.- Camera bugs (yay, I am pressing forward and going backwards(press the 180 before a cutscene and boom) )
2.- Light and shadows (can’t see the flying axes from moss some times)
3.- Lag
4.- Random DPS isn’t dead dps
5.- FPS
The real bosses of the third world.
hardest boss…that guy that LITERALLY 1 shots in CoE story…
@maha.7902
So, it is easy to fgs rush a retaliated mob? We all know that feeling
Well ironically the hardest bosses IMO are the bosses with the most unique ish mechanics and it’s just plain fun! 1 being the hardest!
1. Lupi
2. Mai Trin
3. Troll from HotW P1
Erm just them!
sparki slick – without untraited warden it can get hot in there!
1- Legendary Shaman
2- Mossman (i still can’t completly handle him)
3- Aetherblade Foreman Spur (i hate this boss)
4- Dredge Powersuit and Rampaging Ice Elemental (is realy hard melee them for me)
5- Mai trin (with my old pc was number 1 difficult)
YamataNoOrochi(Warrior)Ziggy Th White Duke(Mesmer)Aleandro De La Vega(Ranger)
1. Kodan’s Bane, The Huntsman
2. Svanigandr
3. Mossman
4. Leurent
5. Risen Priest of Melandru (open world)
Considered more from a solo perspective as everything is easy in a group.

Moss the Boss, lawl. Gonna use that from now on.
also, what Dub said.
But Risen Illusionist isn’t a boss! I also consider those bosses in an unorganized group with ele perspective. Kudzu is such a pain, Liam.
- doranduck, 2016 on Lore in Raids
To throw some favourites in.
Risen high wizard (using Twilight skillset)
Nighmare knight
Champion risen jester
Would love seeing first and third used somewhere outside of open world. Such cuties.

Have you ever been thrown on chaos storms each 6 second which ticked for 16-20k hp on your warrior? Even with dodging chaos storms the only way to stay alive is interrupting/blocking or outranging his beams.
If that isn’t a boss, I don’t know any.
Dub, please make one of them spawn again and record it
It feels weird that I’ve been triple kicked by Lupicus before yet never seen the infamous level 84 illusionist in place of the berserker.

Happened to me only twice. :<
Seems to happen a lot less than tripple or even quadruple-kicks.
Where do lvl 84 mobs spawn in Arah?
It’s sad that risen illusionist is tougher than Zhaitan
[Dark Renegatus]
Hardest (until i learnt how to solo them):
1: Lupicus.
2: Clockheart.
3: Mai Trin.
4: Foreman Spur.
5: Kholer.
Hardest now after I learnt how to kill them:
1: Legendary shaman grawl.
2: Rampaging Ice Elemental.
3: Alphard.
4: Thaumanova Anomaly
5: The 3 golems in SoE path 1.
Notice i don’t use stack places, fgs or any other faceroll strategies, i love old school fights and often goes with pugs or newbies.
Aens / Ellantriel / Nao To Mori / Saelyth. Commander
Guias de Raids en español / Spanish raiding guides
Rampaging ice elemental is like afk faceroll, alphard is easy, 3 golems are easy. That’s a weird list of challenging bosses.
What may be easy for some is not easy for others. And he also said he doesnt stack
Spend two seconds learning the ice elemental’s mechanics and you’ll realise how brain dead the fight is. Alphard, well the boxes are the whole mechanic so I doubt he is as insane to attack her in the open an get completely trash canned by the dagger storm. The golems, well I have a video on y YouTube of us using a low dps class comp, pulling them together and just killing them in the open. Like … they’re really easy.
I gave as one of my favorite hard bosses Alphard back when her pull-bomb used to oneshot. That was a fun boss to solo/duo and very hard to melee in a pug group
Thaumanova anomaly put on someones list? o.O
Pretty much solo’d it the first time i encountered it when everyone fell through the floor lol.
Where do lvl 84 mobs spawn in Arah?
Do you know the level 82 berserker after you pass the group behind the hunter on p2?
Well, yeah…
Well, that’s interesting. I almost feel like rerolling Arah till I get one.
But there are probably better things to do with my life.
What about bloody Victoria?
My soloing list (with warrior):
1. Mossman (level 50)
2. Archdiviner
3. last boss of SE p3 (well, I haven’t tried since ferocity & the scaling changes… but he was TOUGH)
4. the entire encounter of Champion Frizz (level 50)
5. Mai Trin lvl 50 I guess?
I want to add some of the TA bosses like the nightmare tree on fwd and fyonna, but they were only incredibly hard before ferocity & dungeon scaling changes. They are easy by comparison now.
Yeah Fyonna barely does any damage now. Takes like 2-3 minutes to kill with adrenal health.
You dont even need adrenal health. Just dodge the auto attack fairly regularly and healing signet is enough.

I know how OP a level 84 Risen Illusionist can be. But he’s still a silver rank at most. There is another thread dedicated to him. Heck, even the level 84 spider can two shot my ele with just his aa.

Level 84 spider?!
Jesus christ I want to play in your instances. Sounds freakin’ awesome.
It’s swamp level 50. All mobs there are level 84. You can also try to fight Mossie in the puzzle area.
- doranduck, 2016 on Lore in Raids
Oh, lol.
Thought you meant a level 84 elite risen spider or something :>
You dont even need adrenal health. Just dodge the auto attack fairly regularly and healing signet is enough.
I take it just in case Morrigu decides to stick to me.

Why does that make a difference?

Not sure if it applies to Morrigu, but NPCs buff elite risen hunters and the wraithlord hunter in P3 just by existing. Maybe something similar happens with Fyonna’s AA?
Fyonna’s autos bounce. Unless I was high every time I soloed her. Which is a possibility but I am really sure they bounce.
Fair enough. Never noticed because shes never next to me when i fight her. However you can dodge 80% of the auto attacks anyway so it shouldnt be an issue.
For Solo:
1. Mossman
2. Kodan’s Bane, The Huntsman
3. Mai Trin
4. Molten Duo
5. Svánigandr
For Group: (on frac 50)
1. Grawl Shaman
2. Archdiviner
3. Mai Trin
4. Mossman
5. Elemental (Snowblind Fractal)
For Group: (on frac 50)
1. Grawl Shaman
2. Archdiviner
3. Mai Trin
4. Mossman
5. Elemental (Snowblind Fractal)
By number of wipes on average (when you don’t solo them after everyone else dies <_<), I’d go with:
1. Mai Trin
2. Elemental (Snowblind Fractal)
3. Grawl Shaman
4. Mossman
5. Archdiviner
We haven’t wiped on Archdiviner for ages, easy with aegis/reflect/fgs tbh.
I can see that most solo players feel awkward with Arch Diviner in the group setting. In fact, it’s pretty neat to FGS this boss to 50 or even 25%.
edit: Elemental isn’t a hard boss. It’s the opportunistic vet elementals which make it extremely punishing and annoying.

It’s the opportunistic vet elementals which make it extremely punishing and annoying.
You get teleported into the aggro range of the elementals if you were meleeing when the storm triggers (instead of the “safe” spots it usually picks). This coupled with bad luck can get most of the area pulled onto you, and it hasn’t got any particularly good LoS spots near fires to stack-clear them all.
It’s not that Archdiviner is really hard boss but it’s fast attacks with its long range is just annoying
Two typical fractal bosses that mesmer is so much useful there.
