I notice that the final boss throws a lava ball and does a explosion thing which will down anyone who gets hit by it.

The most easiest way of dodging red balls is by using the given hot key.
On Arkk, when you see the red balls appear over his head, after it disappears, wait about 2/3 second and use the hot key.

Alternatively, get someone with good reflects – Ele, Mesmer ect.

The ball itself doesnt one-shot players. It always leaves a red aoe wherever it hits and that’s where most of the damage comes from. The easiest way to stay alive is to use your special action key as it gives invelunerability for 2-3 seconds.

As far as I remember, there is a small arrow on the ground pointing from Arkk in the direction where the next red ball will be launched, so you can get out of the way soon enough. It appears on the ground 0.5-1s before the red ball is launched.

You’re talking about different red balls. The one that just rolls on the floor is announced by the small red arrow under Arkk’s feet. That’s different from the triple balls of doom, which appear ~1 second after the ball above his head disappears.
