crit chance
I know some of them like thief it ends up not being worth it after a certain % since there isn’t an easy way to pick up the crit chance.
Even that said a number of the builds can reach 100% with minor dps losses or gains but most people don’t tend to care if you get within ~2% of 100%.
And the thing with Qt’s builds is that they generally don’t spreadsheet like Dekeys used to, they may use some, but more often than not their stuff is based off of just what rotations and stat combinations worked best on the golems. And you usually can assume that what they have posted is within probably ~3% of the best possible gear setups.
The other thing to remember is to not get overly fixated on theory and work more with what preforms better in practice which usually means you need to run one of the ""Allowable"" dps tools.
Something to always keep in mind is fury and other profession buffs (spotter) or banners that complement many builds. As this is an mmo, you generally should expect to be playing with others and getting these kinds of buffs. You can then use food to fill in the gaps when you solo content, like personal story.
As to how much crit, power, and ferocity to have on a power build, there is a graph/spreadsheet out there someone made after they reworked the stat system that you can look at as a guide. I would suggest looking at it and basing everything off of that.

DPS meters are not accurate either:
So I guess the snake has bitten its own tail… I hoped that Qtfy had more accurate methods. I’ll just be a cupcake and suck it up.

I’d be nice if you cold give a link to that spreadsheet.
Having all buffs with full uptime is irrealistic indeed, but having your crit chance maxed out all you need is a ranger and a warri.
1. Is 100% crit chance the sweetspot for all power-based builds and classes?
In full raid buffs, yes – your power and ferocity are boosted enough that precision is the most valuable offensive stat when in that state, up to the 100% crit chance cap.
Thus it is advisable to build power-focused raid characters to hit 100% crit chance, without going over.
Without full raid buffs power will typically out-perform precision.
- staff ele, thief and radiance guard are on 98.x% – using the suggested build and gear
There is a display bug on the character panel; your actual critical chance is 1% higher than what is displayed. Hence these are all 99.x% builds – and you can make up the difference with a couple precise infusions, which are not listed.
- honor guard, glyph power ranger are on 83.x% and 92.x% – using the suggested build and gear
Honor Guardian uses an Assassin amulet, Accuracy sigil, and a Maintenance Oil to hit 100% crit chance.
Power Ranger just uses the Accuracy sigil to reach it.
All their listed builds are already optimized to hit 100% critical chance.
All the builds are capped on crit chance.
- Staff Ele: I’m not sure how you get 99% on ele becuase it overcaps crit chance slightly with its optimal setup even so you copied something wrong from the site!
- Druid has a trait that gives 10% crit chance while flanking and uses truffle steak, so you need to take that into account.
- Radiance guardian has two traits that give 10% crit chance vs. burning foes and 15% for main-hand scepter and sword skills. Only your traps and torch 4 are at 95% crit chance.
- Honour Guardian uses accuracy sigil+maintenance oil+assassin’s amulet to reach the optimal crit chance.
The builds are optimal, you just didn’t copy the setup right/don’t understand how traits and food work! Also for reference sake, 99% crit chance in the hero panel=100% crit chance.
There is currently a bug with crit chance: The crit chance displayed in the hero panel is slightly different from your actual crit chance. Your target number is 99% instead of 100%.
Also make sure you have all the buffs when looking at the crit chance. If you are missing spotter or banner of discipline or fury, your crit chance will be lower. Also make sure you have ascended everything. Being at 98.x% makes me think that you’re missing something.
For staff ele, gear, traits, and utility should but you at 2140 precision. Accounting for banner of disc and spotter, that puts you at 2460. Your crit chance is thus (2460 – 895) / 21 = 74.5. Adding on sigil of accuracy that puts you at 81.5, and so with fury you should be at 101.5, which is 2.5% more than you need.
Thief is very similar. Your prec signet gives the same amount as ele signet, so you’ll also be at 2140 prec. Instead of the sigil of accuracy, you have a trait that gives 5% crit chance while above 90% health. Thus you’ll be at 99.5% crit chance, which is 0.5% more than you need.
Edit: Removed a paragraph that I think is incorrect after reading other responses.
