u wot
there is no playstyle enforcement. it’s literally just stand on the opposite side of the boss from everyone else. You don’t have to suddenly run party defense traits or anything like that.

You can agro without getting hit by his burn and dodge it if necessary. As for “forcing playstyles”, what do you expect? this is Raids, not story mode dungeons.

I really don’t see your problem there.
This mechanic has nothing to do with “tanking” it’s just the one getting the buff has to move the boss, that’s all.
So you don’t need someone taking extra toughness or whatever, you can just run your normal builds. And it enforces to actually pay attention to the fight and not just brainless follow one tank.
Adept to it and don’t complain cause it doesn’t include “classic tanking”.

No it’s not tanking. It’s just aggro and like everywhere else in the game, it can be anyone. I like the way it work, because it’s different and everybody need to look at the encounter and swap role constantly.

That said, I don’t know if it’s a bug (I sure hope so) or it’s suppose to work that way, but from time to time, the Fixation swap to like 5 people in 10sec. That’s stupid because the boss just start to stay in place and rotation all over the time. By the time the guy with agro reach the front of the boss, it’s another guy that have the agro. Swaping agro is good, but not each 2seconds.

If you stealth or go down fixate changes targets. I think the same is true if the person who becomes a slubling is currently fixated. So in a way you can control who has fixate I guess.

I think it’s a nice change of pace.

@TheonetoRule Raids are supposed to be different and have different mechanics. If you’ve done other Raids, you’ll know that tanking is still important for most fights.
If ANet made every encounter have the same mechanics it would be really boring. I feel Slothasor makes the entire team focus, unlike VG where only the Green Circle team and the tank have to focus on doing their job well, while the rest only have to evade the teleport once in a while. And I like the change.
In the Sloth everyone has to focus on the poison and know how to guide the Boss, which is not hard anyways.

It sounds like you want as little responsibility as possible out of your raid group. If you can’t adapt to a single mechanic in a single fight, it’s no one else’s fault. Just focus on getting better so when this happens it’s not a problem, it’s not like it lasts the entire fight.

I personally love how all 3 bosses (if you call that trio a boss) that they don’t just target the tank. Having to watch everyone’s movement, and move as a coherent group. Sloth is the start where the tank switches, before it goes no tank. All in all A+ to anet for this wing it’s way different from the first and was fun to learn.

Standing in front of a boss and moving him where EVERYONE (tank or not) should be is not tanking. You are basically saying that you dont enjoy this mechanic because it punishes player for not being where they are supposed to be. And its in place to make selling the fights harder.
