any chance we can get at least some of the 1.8k karma we used to get per path back?
Even if its just a few hundred.

fotm and teq is the only way to get any decent supply of karma.
What happened to being able to get what I want by playing the content I want?

I’d rather have 5 dragonite ore than 5,000 karma from doing a dungeon…

I guess no one misses the karma from dungeons?
or no one remembers? Did all the players from back then quit?

Or is everyone preferring teq daily?
Seems most players are happy just logging in and doing the exact same routine daily. Reminds me of those Ipad city builder type games.
Maybe I’m just burned out on teq.

I think the more likely concern is that most people don’t need Karma so why complain that there is no karma income from dungeons. I personally get more karma then I need from general play, dailies/monthlies and the odd drop.

Sure, the excessive karma from fotm/teq is nice on the odd run, but I certianly don’t even do these close to daily.

Would I be upset to have it back, not really. Would it be nice to have? Sure. Would I take it over anything else? Nope.

I need to make some more legendaries but I’m out of karma >_>

unless i’m doing teq 5/7 days a week, I don’t even have enough karma for bloodstone/emp/dragonite refinement. Fail to see how teq and fotm karma is “excessive”. I remember when you got a jug of karma from daily, and 10 jugs from monthly.

I miss the good old karma days, too. I never use the stuff (map completion has completely deterred me from wanting a legendary xD), so I’ve still got about 500k from back in the day when you’d save up jugs and then stack boosters….good times.

But yeah, my guess is that most of the folks who’d remember have indeed left, and those of us who remain don’t have a lot of fight left. Morale is pretty low these days among those of us who are too dumb to just quit already, and given the number of changes dungeons need, karma is pretty low on the list.

Getting karma would be nice. But I’d agree that dragonite drops would be better :-P Getting both from dungeons would actually let me play how I want!

Karma is not what you want. It is one of many currencies you can spend to get what you want. Use other currencies if you are earning other currencies by playing how you want.

If you want an exclusive karma-only cosmetic then the exclusive stuff is not play as you want. Karma can be collected easily enough outside of dungeons.

Anet never said that you should be able to get anything by doing anything.

There is also enough evidence in game that supports this – karma, ascended mats, every possible kind of specific rewards like dungeon tokens or Dry Top recipes, and so on.

What I think they actually meant was that there wouldn’t be restrictions to play whatever game mode you prefer. Basically (game-)technical limitations.

Yes please. Currently working on my next legendary and I’m running out of karma. Tried farming karma in EoTM and my brain almost fell out.

Thank you OP i miss my drips of karma from Dungeons as well.

All i seem to do lately ( the last 12 months) is farm karma for obi shards how about the dungeon vendors sell obi shards like FotM 1 shard = 50 tokens?

I had the karma problem few months ago then the pavillion farm came and got like 1k obsidian shards from that because I expected Anet will never ever give karma again from dungeon runs lol. It was mind numbingly boring even watching shows/movies while only tagging bosses but was worth it.

All I can say is good luck waiting for Anet to cater to dungeon content. It would be nice but all they do are unnecessary “fixes” dungeons for the past months >.>

If you haven’t capped MF yet you can probably dump all your gold on ToT bags for dragonite and MF with a good return on gold when you sell everything else.

My most recent big purchase was unlocking all the T3 Cultural armor skins. That took me down from about 6 million karma to 1 million. That was about a month ago, and I’m already back up to 2 million karma. O.o Where it’s all coming from, I have no idea!

I am the same but I WvW regularly so… yeah.

I do EotM once every few days when the dailies line up for it (it’s easier to get Tower captures in there than in regular WvW), but I only stay in there for an hour at most. Not enough for it to be my main source of karma, methinks.

you can just go play fractal. You get enough people complaining about the reward for fractal already. “Oh what’s the point of fractal, you get so much better rewards for dungeon…”

I also miss the liquid karma from dungeons and the karma booster working on them. It was a nice source of gold every month or so. But at the same time i realise why they changed it and nerfed it. Fractals is a decent place to get karma if you need some.

Nope. Karma is next to impossible to get just doing dungeons.
But who only does dungeons?

My point is fotm and teq are the only major sources of karma, while obi shards are needed in huge quantities just for the refinement of dust/emp/dragonite.

As an alternative solution:

What about changing some of the bloodstone dust from champ bags back into drops of karma?

Seems most people have too much dust, but very few have too much karma.

The bags still drop the drops of karma.. how about tweaking the ratio a bit?
I’d suggest 50/50 between the two myself.

Story modes, there’s almost no reason to repeat these, add a karma reward to them and call it a day.

That’d make story modes worth repeating and giving another option for karma. 2 birds, 1 stone.
