"elitists lvl80 only" attitude lately
Think of it how you want.
I’m not delaying anyone while I’m leveling in dungeons.
Oh pls don’t come here to tell big part of the community that what they do is wrong bcs they aren’t doing like you want. Im in no obligation to to make your gaming experience more enjoyable at the cost of my own. I run mainly high lvl groups bcs that’s how i like it and i suggest you find a way to enjoy the content too w/o bugging others.
Correct. No one should tell other players how they should play at the cost of their own enjoyment especially among strangers in a pug.
been leveling two alts via ascalon. first a thief from 45 to 80, now I’m at my guardian, with with I started at 30 (running story until 35) up to 52 currently. And I full well know and accept that my lowlvl chars were a hindrance to the team. if players weren’t so blind they’d see how bad lowlvl chars fare. I know the dungeon in and out an thus geared both classes full power/prec to deal adequate damage (meaning only about 30% lower than my 80’s, which is still a bit more than most other players, even 80s, I seem to come accross). but one mistake, and I’m dead. an unlurk from rumblus instadowns me for example. my damage oriented 80’s can eat such a hit easily (> 25% health left) while still doing way higher damage.
If I wanted to do a quick run, I wouldn’t accept lowlvl chars either. they slow the team down. 80s can do that as well, but it’s harder to see. a full pvt or worse mf player can’t be identified easily but is a hindrance in an easy dungeon such as AC. a damage specced lowlvl is way better than a pvt specced 80, as long as he can play and doesn’t die. but most lowlvls I came across didn’t even seem to know what a stunbreaker was, and surely not on their current class.

I agree in general with your points, except I don’t agree that full pvt gear player is a bad build. It depends on the class and the build in question rather than the stat combo itself. (In fact that stat combo is very useful for certain guardian builds)
Its not my job, nor the communities job to level your characters. If they do so, I would be very thankful and appreciate the generosity. A nicer way to do things is, play a level 80 for the dungeon, switch to a alt character at final boss who is lower level. That way the party is happy, your happy and its a win/win.

But only if the party is happy with the switch. If they aren’t . . .
As for leveling characters: Are you trying to tell us you got to L80 without anyone helping you out along the way? Yeah, right!
This is a community game – deal with it!
It works and plays best when people help each other. Sometimes that means running around power gaming with other L80s. Other times that means remembering how you got to where you are and giving back a little of the generosity what others gave you. Do that and you might even find GW2 can be even more satisfying than you thought.

I didn’t level any of my characters in dungeons, I just went around doing heart quests, events, and story and crafted for the last 20. Leveling was fast and easy without the dungeons. I don’t want to be the weakest link in a team, I’m the kind of person who waits until I’ve fully or almost fully geared my level 80 before going into a dungeon.
So it’s not strange for me to feel that it’s a negative thing when I see sub-80s in a dungeon pug, there’s a tendency to see them as people who don’t care about performing at their full potential, to be on par with potentially stronger teammates. That said, I don’t mind much, it’s not a big deal, since I’m not looking for speedruns, and there are other things like skill, experience, and personality that determine whether you welcome someone’s presence in a PUG.
But there is a clear difference between 80s and sub-80s. The missing traits and weaker stats do matter, that should be acknowledged. You can say that skill is more important than gear, but dungeon slots aren’t unlimited, a good sub80 takes a slot away from a potential equally good 80 with exotics.
