Q:
getting kicked out bc of a D/C
I’m not sure about this one. I’ve entered a dungeon first and CTD’d, but the instance stayed open with my team in it, and I was able to rejoin them without difficulty. I’d guess that there was a specific and unusual circumstance here, because the situation you’ve described is a far cry from the norm when it comes to DCing.
If it worked that way for you, I still don’t understand why it doesn’t works that way with people who have to leave. Let’s say something along the lines of:‘’ My wife is sick i have to go’’ but since you enter the dungeon you know you’ll ruin the other guys night. I know I would run to my wife but the others will get frustrated and just stop doing dungeons.
And what if the guy who entered firtst really sucks and does nothing but whining and doesn’t help the team? Well I can’t kick him because he ran to the door. So, I’m stuck with someone who doesn’t cooperate and the dungeon just got harder.
I know it sounds like a rant but I know it’s a problem that can be solved easily. That’s what I don’t understand.
That happened because the person that DCed was the instance owner. If the person who owns the instance leaves, everyone is kicked. It happened to me after an hour and a half long run. we were at last boss and we all get kicked

I know that, my question was to a mod who could maybe tell me why they don’t tranfer the instance to somebody else if the owner leaves or get DCed. Since there’s no answer, it would mean that they don’t care or they realized there’s a problem and try to ignore it.
Any other solution would tremendously waste resources, causing lags everywhere for everyone, as well as possibly general stability issues.
Transfer instance ownership? So at the beginning of instance, another player (who? why that one?) would have to be flagged as secondary owner, ‘just in case’, doubling the needed memory for instance ownership flagging. Yes, it doesn’t seem much, but with hundreds of instances being open at once…
Just leave the instance open as long as there’s one person in? That will lead to even greater usage of resources.
Yes, it sucks when it happens to you, but the most sensible solution is just to trust players their computers and connections are stable enough not to drop out.
I’m assuming none of the other members had story mode completed.
Instance ownership can be transferred as long as another member has explorable unlocked, more often than once I’ve had DCs happen and still have room to look for a new member from either friends or guildies.
