Frifox had a very simple way to test these so I think this should be a good start. If this goes well then I can add detailed instructions for other enemy data things too.

Potion info is most likely mostly known. But (at least) I have no idea how many of these have actually been verified and how many have been assumed. Devs might have done mistakes so I think it would be good to verify as much as possible.

For fractal enemies go to here.
How to

Use any attack which hits multiple times over time. This means any channeled attack or ticking AoE. During the attack either drink a potion or change a weapon with slaying sigil. If damage ticks go up then it has an effect.

For example I use Volley on rifle which hits 5 times. First two hits hit for 500 damage. Then I quickly drink a potion (+ 10% damage). Next 3 hits do 550 damage. -> Potion clearly had an effect.

Remember to remove any other condition variables like vulnerability or Scholar runes (unless you can control them). Also getting either very low or very high critical chance reduces chances that you have to convert critical hit to a normal hit (divide by critical damage).

If you have verified any of these before please let me know so I can update this. Also let me know if you have verified something not on the list so I can add it too.

Verify = NO GUESSING OR FEELINGS ALLOWED

For example, “I think I did more damage” or “I felt like taking less damage” is not enough.

Should test elemental slaying for solid ocean. Would work on those elementals. And should test for tentacles.

I can definately help with some of these.

No offence, but a screenshot of your combat log would help. Or a series of screenshots. Or a video. But at least one could be cool.

Weth, you should edit OP to remind people to take screenshots as well I believe.

I just don’t want anyone demand screenshots for stuff I have added on gw2dungeons. :P

But anyways, most of the results should be what we already expect. If something is off, I will test it on my own. So only danger is that something tiny goes bit wrong and I look like a fool 5 years later when someone notices it.

Why not just ask people without the slayer achievements done?

You can also test if two enemies are of the same type when it’s Kill Variety daily.

That’s how learned that the Looters in King Jalis’s Refuge are actually pirates.

I killed a pirate, it went up. Then I killed a looter, and it didn’t change.
Then another day I killed a looter, it went up, and I killed a pirate, and it didn’t change.
This means they are counted as a type, and share types with pirates.

The first thing that comes to mind with this is Gravelings.

Gravelings count for the Ghost Slayer achievement but the stupidly expensive Ghost slaying potion doesn’t work on them nor does the Sigil of Ghost Slaying.

So in summary, there can be exceptions.

90% done with verifying every mob in CoE (up to 5 mob types already). Just need to find a group willing to do the paths and afk while I verify the Husk, Destroyer, Bjarl, and few trash groups. Doesn’t seem like there are many people willing to do that though…

The idea was that you activate the potion during the channel to remove RNG from weapon range. So you don’t have to test a dozen of times until a sufficient weapon range is reached.

yea I sorta noticed that wording near the last test . didnt realise range mattered with the rifle though. will redo when I get back home was too busy last night. ah did multiple times so I can be sure it wasnt a “fluke”. e.g. http://s4.postimg.org/r0109cuul/screenshot_2014_10_08.png
Damage wasnt constant during testing. Now that youve said range is a variable I can see why it changed that much then.

Highest damage of rifle is 22% higher than lowest damage. To be 100% sure, you have to track both minimum and maximum damage with and without potion and keep calculating maximum/minimum possible values.

Just saves you a lot of work if you drink the potion mid-cast.

- Elite-Ascalon-Ranger
- Spider-Hatchling
- Gateguard Napa
- Ascalonian Captain (Bow) (Champion)
- Graveling Hatchling
- Ascalon Captain (Greatsword) (Champion)
- Ascalon Leutnant (Hammer) (Champion) <- is listed as Gatekeeper on gw2dungeons.net but named “Ascalon-Leutnant” in german?
- Fang (Nentes first Dog)
- Nente
- Kasha
- Vassar
- Ralena
- King Adelbern

Unsure about the result, because they die really fast: Kashas Minions seem to be neither undead nor ghost (sigill)

A curios result about the cavetroll, that should be verified from someone else: The undead slaying sigill seems to work, the ghost one doens’t. But the undead potion doesn’t work! Because of bad spawnposition of the troll it was rather hard to get reliable numbers from it and so it may just be a fluke of bad luck.

Didn’t test:
Shadow (Nentes second dog)

Way of testing:
Pistolwhip with a thiefbuild that hadn’t traits that changed the damage done. The sigill was on the offhandpistol (one undead, one ghostslaying). I did multiple pistolwhips per target to get a low and a high number on the individual hits, then disengaged and tried with the other offhand on the same enemy. The first hit of pistolwhip wasn’t used, as it was always way lower then the next few hits. Only non-crits were used.

I believe Alpha’s Essense is Elemental. Just got Elemental slaying achievement while fighting him, which means something Elemental died while he was still alive…

I just tested using flurry …condi warrior if you’re wondering why the damage is so low

Icebrood troll is Icebrood (potent potion):
104 damage w/ potion —> 96 damage w/o;
91 w/o —> 99 w/

Aldus Stormbringer is Svanir (strong potion):
95 w/o —> 102 w/

Ginva is Icebrood (potent potion):
63 w/o —> 68 w/
81 w/ —> 75 w/o
66 w/o —> 72 w/

I also tested whether Ginva was a Svanir and he’s not.

Numbers match up pretty well with the percentages that the potions give (it seems internal calculations do damage in decimals and are then rounded to integers so the numbers aren’t perfect).

It would be nice if someone else could test also just in case, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t screw up.

Did you consume the potion mid-attack? Sword dmg fluctuates 10% so comparing dmg between 2 different flurries is risky business. Even with such low numbers, 91 should have jumped to 100, not 99.

Drank potions mid-attack on flurry (so half the flurry was with potion and half without), not comparing between two different flurries.

As for 91: potent potion gives +9% damage, 91*1.09 = 99.19, so that looks ok to me.

Today is a holiday where i live, so i did an AC-Run to test the rest of the explorable enemies. Sadly path 2 bugged at the end and so i couldn’t test the endboss and the ectoplasmic :/

Here is what i found:
Positive:
Graveling-Hatchling (the little ones, for example for the first event before the spiderqueen)
Spider-Hatchlings (i was surprised too)

Negative:
All the other Gravelings and the Spiderqueen (tested again, because the little ones where positive)
Elite-Spider (p2)
Oozes (p1 and p2, i actually only tested the elite-oozes, because the others died too fast, seemed like the normal oozes are actually enemies of the elite ones in p1, but no idea why. At least they were all dead when i did run back after changing my weapons and i had no idea why, as there weren’t any Gravelings on the scene. But because i did the same damage too normal and elite, i think they’re the same)
Howling King

Way of testing:
Air 1 of the dagger with elemantlist with a build that didn’t change the damagemodifiers or caused vulnerability or might. Hit the enemies a view times to get high and low results, then changed weapons and repeated.
