hi there

as we all know after lvl 10 Fotm, we need AR to plug in..
now i am on lvl 7.. want to get prepare for lvl 10. is is it the only way that need to spend 30 Laurel to buy Amulet from Laurel merchant to plug in the " Versatile Simple Infusion" ?
if anyone know any other way. please tell me.

You should be perfectly fine with zero AR at lvl 10

i do try to run lvl 10 once. really can’t be finish without getting any AR. maybe its bad luck. i ran the hardest dungeon of Fotm. the “Lava” one.

so you recommend. i should running a few more time of lvl 10 to get the Ascended ring first?

I went up to 20s when fotm first came out with 0 agony because of terrible rng back when everyone was still learning them.

FotM 10-19 is balanced fine for not needing AR, and arguably 20-49 is as well since many people got to FotM 80 back in the day where anything past the 30s meant AR didn’t matter, and all Agony is avoidable other then Jade Maw, which can be bypassed using the 99% rez trick before 50.

If you’re running with less AR than is required to reduce it to 1% per tick, you may want to look into what the agony applying attacks are, and how to avoid them.

What everyone else said.

FOTM level 10-19 can be done with no AR. Just learn to avoid the agony. While leveling up 10-19, you should be able to get a ring or two from daily drops. If not, grind 10-19 dailies until you can buy a ring with pristine fractal relics.

Do NOT waste laurels on rings. They are way too easy to come by in fractals.

short answer…..unfortunately playing dungeon in this game doesn t require skill

They require you to know what to do without any clue.
Thus find someone to explain you each fractal and you will be able to 1-79 all of them….

Maybe you will have some profession requirements because sometimes you are stuck without 1 dps war and 1 support guardian but you will think at this only from 26…

The cheapest way to get AR is farm pristine relics for a ring and get a versatile infusion.

Look carefully at the boss attacks, and learn to dodge them. For instance, like was mentioned with the lava boss, when he turns to face you, if he does a slight lift-up, dodge, because an arrow is coming your way : ) It will really help, I think, to play ranged attacks so you have more room to dodge.

Also, you can now use laurels / guild commendations to buy ascended gear and put simple infusions (75 regular relics at one of the merchants in the Fractals) to get some AR. Alternatively, every time you do the daily lvl 10-18 fractal, you get a pristine relic, and 10 of those will get you an ascended item too.

As long as some people have AR, it should not be an issue (I have 25 AR, but my 2 guildies I often run with still have 0, and they’re fine at level 16 so far).

You need to have run 10 fractals to get to level 10, which should give you ten pristine fractal relics. Exchange those for the ring of your choice and you will have 5 agony resistance. By the time you get to level 20, you’ll have another 10 relics, so get a second ring. After running 20 fractals you should also have enough regular relics to get a backpiece, which can be upgraded with the mystic forge for another 5 agony resistance. If you do some daily’s in between those fractal runs you’ll also probably be able to get an amulet from the laurel vendor, putting you in good shape for 20+.

Hiemdal, your information is incorrect.

You only receive pristine fractal relics from the daily chest on level 10 and up.

You do not receive 1 pristine fractal relic per level. You do not receive any pristine fractal relics below level 10.

You have to do 10 ‘daily’ runs at level 10 or higher. That means is you are in the 10-19 level range, you need 10 days to acquire the necessary 10 pristine fractal relics.

Mad Rasputin.7809 – My mistake – Thank you for the correction. Pristine relics weren’t in the game when I started running fractals, and it would certainly slow down aquisition of the rings (as well as odd numbered fractals providing you no benefit other than regular relics).

I guess in that case its hope to get lucky daily chest rewards during the 10-20 runs, as well as saving up the pristine relics.

You could always buy backpacks with agony resist for money.
You can buy amulets and earrings for laurels
Earrings and rings for guild commendations

Even if all fails, you can still join a team with AR=0. IF you look for a team an gw2lfg and promise not to make too dumb mistakes, most players doing some daily or twink run will still have you. I certainly take AR=0 newbies when leveling my twinks and it never was too much of a hassle.

Don’t buy rings with laurels. Later you will get tons of rings and relics. It is actually good you run lvl10 with no AR for a few days so that agony really do some damage and you have to learn how to avoid that.

Also the Sunstone Backpieces can be infused. You can get the rare one fairly quickly by finding 10 of the 11 sample locations.
