[merged] "Selling" Dungeons Is wrong
And in what shape or form are these people affecting your gameplay? If i wanted to run a path, i’d host a group myself. If not, i wouldn’t bother with those people. Though if you find players selling arah p2 and haven’t killed lupicus, then feel free to give them the boot or w/e.
Just leave us honest happy merchants alone, plz.

dungeon selling isnt entirely wrong but you know theres a problem when all the posts are selling paths for arah
I see multiple Dusk up on the TP at 800g or more all the time. Doesn’t mean that’s the only way to get it nor is it the value of the weapon. Some will sell at that price but the reason you see so many of it listed is because it’s not being sold. This is the same as why you “only” see paths being sold vice more regular runs (at certain times). Plenty of people are willing to run it normally and the people who are selling paths sometimes have to wait a while to get a sale.
What’s next telling us buying/selling Legendaries with gold is wrong because you didn’t “earn” it?
The people who sell the slots are people who are good at the game but don’t have money. People who want the gear but suck at the game pay money to the good players. The good players take the bad player’s money and buy toys they wouldn’t be able to afford without the bad player’s money. The bad players get to look how they want by throwing coppers at their screens.
Both sides get what they want. What is the problem?

Oooooooh, randomfightfan. Is alive! We missed you, now come to EU and play again!
It happened in GW1 and it’ll happened in GW2.
There’s nothing wrong with selling spots, as long as they don’t exploit to get through the dungeon.
They’re selling the services of soloing (or duo-ing) the dungeon.

That’s because normal groups are filled very fast while the selling “groups” are filled way more slowly.
I’m completely against the selling. mainly because I’ve had 2 different times now I’ve been suddenly kicked from a dungeon only to find a min later a group with the exact same group design is selling a spot for the final boss.

So you should have a problem with dirtbags.
If someone coughs in your face do you get mad at your flu or the person who was behaving borderline incompetent?
That’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout!

short answer. Dirtbag or not. People are creating and endorsing the idea and practice of something that makes others suffer where they shouldn’t.

People who are out to make others suffer will do so regardless.. Punishing people offering a legitimate service is asinine.

I’ll remember to mention that next time I see a chinese farmer.

Except that goldselling is against the rules, pathselling isn’t.

Actually, that would just mean that people learned to accept sellers and stopped the griefing. But considering how the LFG gets suddenly empty every evening that won’t happen soon, mainly because of people who think like you.

I know several Chinese people that “farm” dungeons, why do you hate them?

this guy Gw1 had this almost everything was soloable people who didn’t know how to solo or couldn’t bought those runs in the case of gw1 cof both runner and people getting ran won because 1 the cost of cof run was the same as the reward the runner would just get more profit then everyone else.
The only thing I’m against is if the “sellers” kick other party members just to sell the slots for gold. If they arrange with friends or run it with 2-3 people, I’m ok with it, but I’m afraid it will often lead to 2-3 people kicking 2-3 pugs to sell their “slots”.
That’s the main reason I could be against this market. If there could be safeguards to make sure the sellers can’t kick people to sell their slots, I would be fine with it.
There will always be some kittens, which have lead people to think that most sellers kick to sell spots, which isnt the case. I’ve lost my spot before (kicked at last boss after helping party stuck at Alphard then porting ppl who cant trash run wtf). I guess the only safeguard would be starting the instance yourself, which although is a problem in itself but that’s another thread..

I don’t think this happens very much if it all.. Its just random forum posts crying about it made by people who probably can’t figure out any other reason they where booted, or think the content is too hard to solo/duo/trio/whatever…

If people would give it any thought then they would realize its probably much faster to duo/trio a path than invite 2-3 pugs who have absolutely no idea what they’re doing and kick them at the end.
Recently I’ve noticed a large increase in parties selling Specifically Arah paths 4 & 2. 6 gold or more at a final boss when the reward offers 3 gold or less. Isn’t this some sort of sham?
If not, I’ll just refresh my LFG on Arah as many times until I see a group who isn’t charging for a simple path run & forget about this.
If anything, people shouldn’t sell a path for more than the reward at the end of the path.

Why?
plz fix underwater so p2 is at least worth selling thank you – happy train.
You want to farm Arah? By all means do so. Gather your own party and slice through the dungeon like hot knife slices through butter. But if we (my party) can clear a path with only 4 or sometimes 3 ppl, wy can’t we sell last 1 or 2 slots to make ourself some profit?
And no, there is no reason to sell a path for an path-end reward or less. If you’re buying a path, you’re paying for getting fast tokens. No repair charge, no time wasting. You entered, got your reward and left. It’s a comfort feature and comfort cost some money.
And if you’re not willing to buy – i repeat, gather your own party. Ask in a guild, or just start a brand new party in LFG. I can assure you, people who also don’t want to buy a path completition will gladly join.
