single fractals
You can’t do all the fractals alone, some require you to be at least 3. It is not a good idea because it’ll take you way more time and finding a group is actually easy. I’ve done some easy ones alone when there was nobody coming for a group or to get specifics achievements (did Jade Maw alone to get the no lasers achiev)
Soloing fractals can be fun if you do it for the challenge, though there’s currently not that much of it left.
The ones you can’t solo are underground facility, aetherblade hideout on some classes I guess (depends on scale, too), swampland, volcanic would be tricky too due to the bubble. Thaumanova is probably doable for some classes, but would be… well, Subject 7 isn’t going to be much fun.
If you aren’t familiar with the mechanics, I can’t imagine you’d have much fun soloing fractals — it’s far easier to learn them with a small group (even 3-4). Once you know the mechanics, most lower-level fractals can be duo’d without too much trouble and only a few require a set number of people to manage gated mechanics:
- Uncategorized has a “guitar hero” stairway that can be bypassed by teleports.
- Swamp’s 3-mote-run can be solo’d easily by a skilled mesmer, less easily by speed + teleports and (at least at low levels) easily duo’d.
- Underground/Grawl has at least one 3-person gate (the ‘guns’ variant has a second).
- Thaumanova’s maze room requires a minimum of two people or a skilled mesmer.
