When are the players who were disconnected near or at the end of the event, going to be given their chest rewards?

It was stated by an Anet dev here on the forum, that compensation for disconnected players was being discussed and considered.

Can we have some kind of update? ETA? Criteria used to determine who is, and isn’t eligible for said rewards?

In addition, heres my story of the event:
I was at work till 5 PM on sunday. Luckily, an altruistic player was sitting around with party members in an uncompleted overflow, shouting and sending party invites to anyone who’d missed. Thanks to him, I was able to squeeze into an overflow, that had only just begun the event, and our group lept into the fray, escorting the lions arch team!

At the 2 hour mark, the entire overflow server crashed and booted everyone. MOST of us got back in. I got dumped in a different overflow, but was able to join my new buddy in the original. Thankfully the event did not reset, and we were able to resume the 2nd reinforce phase. Not everyone was so fortunate. Many were left stranded in other overflows and unable to continue.

Turns out we were no better off, cause we played through almost the entire final hour of the event, and were chasing the Ancient Karka into the nest, when the entire overflow was disconnected. The event reset and vanished. Not a single person got the chest reward.

Long story short, my story is about the same. 4 hours running around in lag and dying and didn’t get any reward. The event ruined my entire enjoyment for this game.

In our instance, we got the Karka near death when I seemed to randomly fall through the floor so I dropped back to character screen in a fit of pique :p
I relented less than a minute later but was unable to get back in game. T

i had the same problem as some people i was in the fight for a long time and almost got to the end and was disconnected. I tried to log back in but got stuck on the loading screen. When i got back in the game the event was over and i did not get any reward. I was on my character Rerita Da Reeaper.

Different thing happened to me, event bugged out because the demolition crew stopped to take a coffee break or something so everyone left and when we all came back. The event was done and everyone that left didn’t get a chest.

As I couldn’t post this in the Lost Shores forum as they have Archived it even though they haven’t sorted or don’t seem to even have an idea of when they are likely to fix the issues:

So, three days down the line and apart from some platitudes from raising a support ticket, still nothing has really been done or said by ANet apart fromt hat they are still exploring the possibility. I know it took 8 years to release GW2 and that the code must be fairly complex, but the fact that you are able to release one time event (albeit not very successfully), would mean you should eb able to have a handle on this and a delivery schedule sorted by now if you were really serious about kepping your community appeased and keeping that good feeling alive rather than pissing everyone off.

So, can we have a proper update? Or is company policy to keep its community in the dark for as long as possible and to keep the bad feelings over this going and destroying your community?

…I was another who had battled for 2 hours only to have the game screw up on me just before the final battle….I had to restart the game but couldn’t log in until AFTER the battle was finished

Since ANet has gone out of their way to ask for direct feedback regarding the event, I imagine they are taking their info from that feedback and will sort that out and act accordingly.

So…go do the real feedback.

same issue here, just open a ticket at support… hope they will resolve…

An official update would be great, i hope they’re trying to find a way to avoid giving the same reward twice to those who already got it.

I also had big problems, mainly with the lag.. couldn’t even reach the karka’s lair without dying. i decided to rush ignoring the mobs, i reached the lair and the spiral road, went down but there were no mobs, no players, i was still alive but it felt like the game was crashing, it didn’t for several minutes… i thought that maybe relloging i would have been able to see everything, i logged back and i was dead with lots of mobs and dead players around me.. i tried to go back again, got disconnected. so i decided to wait a bit in the lion waypoint. I tried going back again a few times but always got killed because of lag, or disconnections..

Same here. Got disconnected in the final fight, and the login servers were down when I tried to log back in. Forum login was down too, it seems. It’s a real shame, I fought those 2 and a half hours, and got nothing in the end.

Still no word ANet? We’re not asking you to magically make the reward appear now, we’d just like to know you have not forgotten and are still working on a fix.

Same. Got stuck on the loading screen, when rally on waypoint.
Someone got few chests for different characters, someone got nothing.
Still waiting for news with solving the problem.

They are probably trying figure out how to reward players without duplicating rewards to players that received it. That isn’t an easy thing to do. I would give them time as I am confident they will reward those that participated but got issues in getting the reward.

I still want to know why one quest chain was extended and the other was not :/

Im beginning to think they just want to sweep this under the rug and hope people forget about it. They have said nothing for a week.

I as well am wondering if something is still in the works for the load of players unable to reach the chest who participated but got DC’d etc? Or is the event a thing of the past now? I couldn’t find any recent info and have seen nothing in game so I’m curious.

Same for me, first i got banned for botting at the first day of the event, after 2 days i got my account back. (cause i obviously did not bot an event that was never been done before) on the final day i did the event from the start, and after a few hours, when we almost killed the ancient, i got kicked just like all of u (above).

Well…! Nothing worked there… ! First of all I was able to port to the next waypoint. After about 1,5 h, I heard everything but there was still a loading screen which lead me to relogg. Everything was fine.

After 2,5 hours… I got disconnected and couldn´t get back in. Pretty frustrating!

YES! Trying to be patient, but they’ve had enough time to figure out this out and get our rewards to us. I played every day, every event and was so excited for the final event…hours of battle and then BAM! disconnected, no reward. Finally logged back in and those that got their loot from the event linking their items in chat, ouch, that hurt.

I find it quite disheartening that we’ve not heard anything yet, one way or another. I’m hoping it’s Thanksgiving that’s causing the delay, and that it’s not just them hoping we forget. I was starting to feel a little disillusioned about the game when the event started, and I think that this has completely tanked my love for it.

Also, word on WHO exactly is getting a reward?
I played all events, except for beating the Ancient Karka itself (because the whole event took too long and didn’t have the time to finish it)

I did participate in the chain-event technically, does that mean I’m getting a reward too?

The sad and funny thing here is people actually believed that Anet would do this.

They made that news announcement to get everyone to shut up and stop posting. The event is in the past and everyday that goes by more and more people forget about it.

Until its a month later and the new event comes out and its totally forgotten. And GG, you got hustled by big brother of gw2.

No ones getting anything. I dc as well and I have come to live with it. No backpiece, no box and no loot.

Anet really cares about its players right? No.

Bumping this thread, can we please get an official response from Anet? A simple “We are still working on it” would suffice. There are hundreds of well-deserving players left empty handed after that dull event; we understand you had the weekend for Thanksgiving and I do hope you all enjoyed it, players are still left wondering though.

Hopefully this is just a problem of bad communication. They did tell us that they are working on a fix to give those of us that were disconnected some sort of reward. That would be pretty brave of them to put something like that down in writing if they don’t plan on following through. It’s not something that anyone that spent hours doing that event will forget.

I sincerely hope this is the case -Doing nothing or offering some paltry token reward in the hope that people have forgotten about it would be pretty inexcusable.

im still waiting i participated in each event and got dcd at the very last part with the ancient karka logged back in and it had been defeated -.-

If you raised a support ticket, they would have told you you would hear early this week. I do not call Wednesday early in the week and still nothig from A-Net. I really hope they ar stilll working on this, but hve given up playing everyday as this has just annoyed me so much and I will not be taking part in any more events unless this is sorted.

COME ON A-NET, ANSWER YOUR USERS!!!

This is just kittens at this point. Everything is being ignored. Even the response to the lost shore thread got unstickied.

I think they will sort something out, well i hope they do, because i spent hours, the time i played was great fun but to be totally bugged so not to complete in the overflow i was in, i was there from the beginning, from a tiny group to 60 plus players.

I was strongly considering buying a mess of gems this black Friday during the sale, but I decided that I am going to refrain from making any real money purchases at all, till this issue is resolved as promised.

I don’t mind if it is still in the works, but after two weeks of no response, it starts to feel like we’re being ignored. All someone has to do is give an update.

I tend to agree – just let us know something, please. Even if it’s a simple we are still trying to resolve the issue. I would be satisfied with that.

the outrage was much large before but since they closed the other forum and very few people come to the dynamic events forums, it seems small.

Hello.

Thanks again for your patience while we looked into your issue with the Lost Shores event. We have confirmed that we can provide everyone who did not have the opportunity to loot the chest with a reward for their participation. All affected players will receive a reward regardless of whether or not they have contacted Support. We’re working very hard on this, and you should have a reward in your in-game mail early next week.
