You must of never played Vanilla WoW’s PvP system. Also, that rogue is wearing top tier PvE gear and owning noobs. Real skill.

Why am I watching some keyboard turning Rogue? Is that what Real PvP was at level 60?

Watched the first presented video up to 1:02. Noted Skill 2 is a leaping attack. 3 is an AoE bleed, 4 is a snare and 5 applies vulnerability. I’m not a pvp pro but I can say that anyone worth their salt is not going to spam down 12345 if they wish to be effective. If anything, it should be 2, 5, dodge, 3, 4 (or 4,3) then 1/autoattack.

Now then, got to 1:02, first fight in the video….First skills used: 1, 3. OP troll fail…

OP, your post makes literally zero sense. i cannot follow your sentences, for they are completely devoid of any structure that reflects any discernible content.

but if it’s something about button mashing 1-5, i can assure you that this won’t work in any form of PVP, let alone PVE.

I love how whenever someone brings up WoW’s “PvP”, we’re always presented with videos that focus on huge numbers and how the target couldn’t even respond let lone fight back. This is NOT PvP. It’s a person assassinating another player.

1-You dont farm anything in pvp beside looking good in pvp and you cant gank anyone in pvp because he well be having an army behind him in world vs world or if it was in a normal battle ground then it is Impossible to beat tow players in this game due burst damage, unless its tow people without keyboards or if they both are low hp.

2-has anyone noticed that you cant duel? you cant do any real arenas with ladders and ranking? because Everyone well start Whining and the troll posts well rise up and the QQ well never end the cycle of hate and Umad threads well never stop simply because everyone well die in seconds.

Welcome to gear-balanced PvP. You don’t get players killing armies just because of gear. And yes, PvP is not supposed to be a grindfest. Problems with that? Also, TWO.

I logged back into WoW the other day on a 7 day free trial (I haven’t played since Feb. 2011.) I was shocked and depressed. I had forgot how much WoW ability system and combat has on GW2.

It’s a fricken shame how limited this game is in abilities, which in turn limits the depth of combat. Don’t give me that bull about combo fields either. Combo fields could be a good part of the combat if for example Whirl A did X in combo field N , and Whirl B did Y in combo field N. As it stands Whirl A,B,C,D,E all do X in combo field N.

It’s so simple it almost seems incomplete. This is the game for people who complained that Gladiators had better gear, and who liked 31 point talent trees.

About that I can agree, but they chose to make it a small selection of skills so that the game would be simpler.

@BCbully: I love your thoughts on the combatsystem. Maybe I will join you in playing WoW once I am depressed with the incredibly boring Combatsystem in GW2. For instance these lame attacks on all the weapons just feel as if there is no power behind them at all WoW does such a better job at this… And the combat is way to static I mean I alwasy sit around just shooting the enemy. This was so much more engaging n WoW, too.

Nice generalizing there BcBully. Since your precious Secrete world bombed you’ve been going on about how bad this game is here and on mmorpg forum. WoW combat is about the simplest combat in the genre. More simple than SW and more simple than GW2. Arcane mages spaming 1 skill and 3 button rogues, so complex.

GW2 is about comboing skills for maximum ouput. WoW is about pressing skill 1 for “BIG NUMBERS” and skill 2 for “BIG DEFENSE”.

Unless you’re talking about an MMO with true open world PvP and lootable players, I don’t want to hear what your definition of “real PvP” is. PvP is PvP, even this zerg fest we call WvW.

If u wanna Player vs Player 1v1 (80% skill n 20% class/gear) + should practice and learn how the opposite class is workin cause half of the gw2 players dont know even how PvP is workin

That warrior video made me lol. Swinging at the air, no weapon switch (ranged weapon). Overshooting skills and just terrible usage of abilities.

think he’s trying to say that burst someone down in 2 or 3 attacks isnt any fun and he’d be right and same goes for pve… getting into combat and dieing in 1 attack is not fun… and i hate to say i’m inclined to agree with him…

PvP is when two or more opponents have the same chance of winning, and the only thing that will name the winner is their skill. In the word “skill” we include everything that the player exploits besides their gear. In WoW, this is not the case most of the time. It IS the case when you have two players with the SAME gear battling it out, but that rarely, if never, happens. Therefore, WoW’s “PvP” can be summer up as “who spent the more time on the game and has the best items wins” match. By definition, a superior player is not killing his opponent with his skill but a huge number that takes off 90% of opponents hp in less than a second (i.e. his superior weapon/armor). Hence, this could be defined as Item vs. Player.
