1 Extra Utility Slot - A Serious Discussion

I’d actually prefer my elite slot to be able to use any utility skill… cause frankly, some racial and profession elite skills are simply useless.
You used the P word.. next time say “suggestion” and post in that category :P
I would like this so I can have all four cantrips instead of 3 and one signet. It would sure make Orr a bit easier!
I would like to have the extra utility slot to activate the many consumable items that can be bought at karma vendors around the world – making use of them from the inventory bag just isn’t practical and there are so many useful items out there that are not getting used.
There is a suggestion forum, but on the matter, I think it can be resolved more easily. Just allow normal skills in the elite slot. Don’t need that elite, there are better normal skills.
Or ability to slot utility skill on elite slot. happy ele
As others have stated. Allow the elite slot to be able to choose any of the utilities. Most elites are very trash and makes builds feel incomplete. Anet needs to give more control to the player for builds. This would be a step in that direction.

I would love an extra one. What’s the point of being elixir specced if you can only use three out of the four elixirs.
+1 on making the elite slot available for standard utilities as well! Some professions don’t have reasonable access to an elite underwater. And in some situations elites aren’t that useful. Usually they’re pretty good but there are so few! I think the range of skills is acceptable but occasionally the skill you need won’t fit in a slot you can’t use otherwise.
I wholeheartedly agree. The professions have an amazing array of diverse skills. Even one extra slot would be a significant increase in depth.

i want new skills on the – and = keys.
they need not be utility or elite, i was thinking of new semi-okay skills that add flavour.
I’m up for the fourth utility slot. After all if everyone can have it I don’t see where could be a real balance issue. Unless some classes already have an advantage over others…

I mean no offense, but a balancing problem already exists doesn’t it simply by the nature of some elite skills vs. others? Almost all of the Mesmer’s elite skills are way better than any one engineer elite skill; not to say the engineer elite skills are all complete garbage, but by comparison they hardly hold a candle in terms of sheer effectiveness (unless they were on shorter cooldowns perhaps).
