I quit the game a year ago from now, I felt that I did pretty much everything worth doing and eventually found my self just sitting in Lions Arch wanting to do something but just had no drive to anymore, I had several sets of gear for different scenarios so didn’t have much need to consistently farm the same dungeons over and over anymore, I had 3 Max levels which was more than enough for me to play about with, Legendary farming and Ascended was not my cup of tea to go for either.

I did a ton of WvW and even GvGs among the best that was around back then which was a ton of fun but shamefully it just wasn’t enough alone to keep me in, I enjoyed dabbling in Spvp every now and then even just to play with some builds, the thing that really irked me and eventually had me quit was the incredible lack of PvE content and any real update to keep people like me entertained, that being a person that whilst liking PvP I need my dose of good challenging PvE dungeons to tackle through (don’t even bother mentioning fractals) that has a fresh feeling to it, problem was after the 1-2 years I played the game for (how ever long it was from release to 1 year ago) the only “new” dungeon they really brought out was fractals and after getting onto level20 or so I just lost interest from repetitiveness and wanted something new.

I really did not enjoy or even like the idea of the living world story as I found it to be just poor mans content with a pretty meh story line and gameplay along with the fact that it made it feel pointless to even want to start it as I didn’t play it from the very start and for what I saw it was carrying on and we had no way to go back and replay it, the sections I did play I felt it didn’t even compare to the actual games Main story that I really enjoyed playing as it felt like the story had meaning and lots of different gameplay things to experience, where as when i did the living story I just thought “why am i even bothering?”.

So with that said, has anything changed with some actual content that’s been added in that I can experience without it vanishing after a couple weeks? or is it going to just be more “living world” stuff and the game will feel the same as it did 2 years ago? aka still no new dungeons (permanent ones…) that I can go do or things to farm that’s worth while (no, not ascended…please…).

Well, all of the living story is now replayable, and the zones it introduces are permanent. But if you’re interested in making new alts, I’d suggest you research the NPE (new player experience) and the April trait changes.

Because we can’t be angry about both?

Living Story season 1 was poor, but season 2 is much, much better in comparison. The two new zones they have added also have interesting mechanics that make for longer lasting play.

I am enjoying the Mawdrey scavenger hunt so far.

If you’re looking for "interesting " PvE content, you’re frankly better off to migrate from one single player RPG to the next. MMO’s are always going to disappoint because they’re about repeating content for rewards.

This. But with The Secret World as an exception – for story + characters, not gameplay.

Agree with OP, LS is easily the worst content delivery vehicle of any MMO to date for me. I largely find myself in the same predicament as the OP.

I would much rather pay a subscription and get quality content and timely updates to skills/mechanics.

It means anything changes : we have only 10 hours of new content for the new map. I like the game very much, i love Guild Wars 1 too. But i think Guild Wars 2 suffer for new content, new dungeons, new races, new professions or a new reason for continue to play beyond the collectable new skins.

It has been a year.
Of course there have been changes.
Now get off your lazy kitten and see what they are yourself… then make a determination if you want to return or not.

Living Story season 2 is a leap forward from “kind of a mess with shots of brillance” to “solid delivery with a really well done episode 5”. The two new maps look smallish but are very different from the old maps: more to do, local currencies with unique rewards, players can work together map-wide for a common goal. Especially Silverwastes is very nice – but the chest farming should be tuned down a bit.

Wvw is sadly stale at the moment. No serious changes there.

There have been a significant amount of changes. That being said, nothing about the overall game has changed. As with most MMOs the direction is exactly the same and while you may like this change or that, it is still the same exact experience.

If you left because you thought you had been there, done that, when you return it will still have been done.

Hey dude you are walking into a wall.
