1 hr for 5 wins in DB why? Really?
Have you considered not bothering to get 5 wins?
I have never played until I got 5 wins and I am, as best as I can tell, alive, healthy, and happy.

Getting my 2 participations is enough of an aggravation each day that I can’t even look at the game when done. I can’t imagine the level of masochism necessary to get 5 wins.
I do 5 wins every day and I can honestly say that I feel like punching babies afterwards every single time. It should have been 2 wins and 5 participations.
Not such a grievous error in judgement as Dragon’s Gaze, but still…
Everyone is in the same circumstances to win. Some players are naturally good at Dragonball, some like myself are not. But Nobody is given an advantage over anyone else, so why we’re asking ArenaNet ‘why?’ I don’t know.
Just try your best – it’s just a bit of fun at the end of the day, not intense like Ranked PvP (though some people rage in chat like it is – I just block ’em!). Like some others have said, I only get the 2 games per day now that I got my achievement for 10 wins.
Doesn’t help when you are on the side with three in a 3 Vs 5 battle.

I had a really awesome 1v5. I was the 1. It wouldn’t even let me hide in the starting base.
Clearly you were not spamming “1” hard enough – spam faster next time!
DB minigame is for masochists,
<- Only joins running games (Score > 200), because Dragenball sucks.
<- Doesn’t care about belonging in the losing team, because Dragonball sucks.
<- Never does the five victory achievement, because Dragonball sucks.
How to play good Dodgeball:
1.) Start GW 1
2.) Roll a ele.
3.) Invite + confront your friends to GvG (all elementalists).
4.) All wear low armor with maxed Lightning magic.
5.) Only use Lightning Orb!
6.) Have fun.

That’s why I stop at 2 participations.
I started out with doing 5 wins daily, but then on the third day as I was torturing myself trying my hardest at getting a win and then after an hour I finally got a win (third for the day) and it didn’t count. I yelled at the screen (scared the cat) and said screw it. I will try to eventually get 3 more wins to get up to 10, but I refuse to do 5 wins a day again. If I start a match fresh I will try to win and play as I should, but if my team sucks I will feed the other team kills to get it over with to get my 2 participations for the day. Unlike every other activity in the game there is no incentive to win or stay in a match til the end. Not even 1 karma or 1 copper for a loss (or win)….yeah not worth me stressing out grinding out wins.
I hate Dragon Ball so much now and that sucks. It’s an interesting map and could have been enjoyable even with a loss if there were rewards like every other activity in the game. Instead, there’s nothing unless you’re lucky to get 10 wins. I have words for this game that the forums would filter to kittens so I’ll leave it at that.
I got 8 wins so far… I’ve no idea how many losses, I stopped counting.
The only reason I know I got 8 wins is every time I somehow fluke a win it tells me in the achieve popup.
The one thing stopping people from pursuing more wins is there’s no per-match reward for winning, or a consolation for losing. It’s AP-based and you’re supposed to be chasing those AP’s… and that’s part of the reason people think so little of it.
“Obtaining a legendary should be done through legendary feats…
Not luck and credit cards.”
Up until yesterday, this was easy for me. The game was even auto joining me to winning teams. I’d split it up and do a set of 2 wins, come back a few hours and do another set of 2 then later finish the last one.
Suddenly that all changed. I don’t know what happened, it seems like on the same day all of the rest of the community got good at the game. Then the RNG really kicked in…
It could be said that you have a base 50% chance of being on the winning team when you join a game that has yet to start. If you’re not good, that chance goes down. If you are good, that chance goes up.
I’m usually on the top of the score board at the end of every round. Yet recently I seem to have a 80% chance to be on the team that will ultimately fall short by the end.
Is anything broken? No. Luck is luck. Bad luck is bad luck. Am I having fun? No. However, if this event is up for a month, that’s 30 AP tied to this.
In any team PvP game, the achievements that require winning that have a limited time of completion should only require ONE win.
What happened is that they got their hundred kicks and now they can focus on actually playing the game, and as soon as one side gets a little ahead, players on the other side leave, and that results on that gap getting only bigger.

If it was last night, for about 3-4 hours after reset, I may be partially to blame. I was racking up wins for the totems. After 22 wins, with only a couple of losses, I hit a wall too. Of course, after that many hours my eye’s were about to fall out of my face! They are still red and irritated today.
I really dislike joining a match that’s in progress with a score of 20/260. Obviously the slots are available because players started rage quitting. It’s a complete waste of our time to be put into a match that we’re all but assured to lose. Losing should earn us something for the time spent. You can’t have winners without losers, right? So, everyone’s time should have value. Just like in sPvP, losing still gives you something.

Which is why the daily achievements should at least be more like:
- Win one time
- Play 5 times
Like it was said above now that I got my 100 interrupts I play the game normally and actually focus on winning. If you can focus on giving your team an an early lead it just snowballs because you will all have max power ups while the other team runs around with gimpy fire balls. Of course if your team has a couple afks you are better off leaving and rejoining because its a lost cause.
I used to do five wins a day, but it just got too tedious and boring (even when winning five in a row). Now I just stick to doing the participation daily and leaving the other one alone to go do other stuff.
Haven’t even bothered trying to grind for the interrupts, I’d rather jab a fork in my eye and swivel it around.
OP why do you think you need those five wins? What do you think you’re getting out of it that you need so badly?

Ctrl-Mouse2: set this skill to autoattack.
When someone pops the whirlwind skill this is going to hurt you – so if you don’t really care (totally a valid response to this game mode), by all means, but if you’re really trying to win, it’s best just to press 1 repeatedly so you can at least stop it if you need to.
On the broader subject, I think I had something like 10 losses in a row for a while, even while I was on the top 2 performers for the team after a while. Then it flipped and I got the five wins in 6-7 games. It’s a weird game mode – don’t really know how to explain it.
The only thing I can suggest, strategy-wise, is that it helps immeasurably to travel in groups. It feels like an FPS, but it really isn’t one.

You can easily cancel your auto by:
1. Click the floor to deselect target.
2. Turn your character in opposite direction
3. Dodge.
I always turn on my Auto 1 in this game and it never causes me trouble.

Yeah I actually don’t rush my Dailies thanks to that stupid game mode, when I do, i get up and read a book immediately after to rid me of frustration.

This.
Why Anet Why? Dragon’s Gaze and this?
Open 6 letters, 5 firecrackers, and 2 participation in DB = laurel.
Why even bother with the 5 wins one. If it’s for that 1 AP, then boy let me tell you there are far more efficient ways to get 1 AP.
If you are top 10 in AP leaderboard and want to maintain that spot, then I suppose that 1AP is important. If you don’t fall into that category, do yourself a favor and skip that one.

no thanks, im really happy with only having to play 2 games of this per day.
Gunnar’s Hold
I remember when once upon a time you got rewarded for participating, regardless of whether your team won or lost. Obviously the shinies were better if you won, but still. I miss those days….
As much as I like Dragon all…the fact that I get absolutely nothing regardless of whether I win or not, kinda kills it for me. Its get 5 wins, or get nothing. Sadness.
A victory for me is a game where I land an interrupt.
I don’t think I will be getting the 100 interrupts playing 2 games a day. 6 down and 94 to go.
