Hi everybody,

so after an intermission of exactly one year and a couple of days (because of said other mmo that came out) I logged on to gw2 again last evening, saw Wxp was merged, traits resetted, but what else has changed/ is new?

- meta game/class balance status? I got end lvl chars:
* Thief (traits changed/fotm builds changed?)
* Warrior (traits changed/fotm builds changed?)
* Guardian (traits changed/fotm builds changed?)
* Engineer (traits changed/fotm builds changed?)

- WvW (like for example warrior hammerstun builds still the meta in pvp?)

- Dungeons (warrior group still op?)

- Pve (new maps/content?)

I must say I truly missed the game in some aspects, and had alot of beautiful memorys playing it, and well fighting the lagg in said unmentioned other game finally brought me over again last night :p

Builds – This site seems to be popular for builds – http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki

Dungeons – No. Guard/War/Ele/Ele + (Thief/Ranger/Mesmer) is I believe the most optimal grouping depending on dungeon. Ask the dungeon forum for more info.

PvE – Dry Top, Silverwastes (new maps), Living Story season 2 is available (costs 200 gems per episode).

Otherwise for more changes then check out https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates

Other notable things:

Heart of Thorns Expansion was confirmed, In the HoT forum a post is residing about releasing the Condition Cap, cap used to be 25 in HoT beta stacks went up to 99 before changing into ! which might be an overflow. Nothing is definitive though. Also some new buffs and conditions have been named

A new heavy proffession was announced (Revenant) and new specialisations to the present proffesions, more to be released in the future… E.T.A. unknown, first (b`eta) stress test has come and gone.

Silverwastes introduced more foes including a boss with high armor/lower health, clearly reducing DPS efficiency, comparable to earth elementals they are high toughness creatures, this combined with the former remark about stacks could mean condition dmg could actually be a real thing in HoT, I have spoken several friends, them being guild leaders who advised their guild to no longer craft zerker ascended armors until HoT arrives. A meta shift is expected with the release of HoT, but we will see.

Nomad and Sinister are 2 new stats,
Nomads: a “tanky” statcombo (Toughness, Vitality, Healing, used in WvW as niche,) and
Sinister: glass conditions combo (Condition Dmg, Power, Precision, used in SW for PvE conditions as niche)

They both have corresponding ascended trinkets unlockable through LS2 or buyable at vendors in Dry Top (nomads/ventari(asc nomad)) and Silverwastes (sinister/verata (asc sinister))

some new sigils and runes were released…
1st view camera was added….
Dry top and silverwastes brought a whole lot of new recipe’s for food,
Dailies were changed. you need to do them for AP only gift is just for logging in. monthly is now removed for 28 changing drops daily including 35 laurels, 10 Tomes of knowledge mystic coins and random stuff as

The recent chinese new year event showed us some foods with stats which are truly nice.. also containing the new meta condition roaming food, which is unfortunately NOT craftable (+25% condition duration outgoing, -40% condition duration incoming)

23 lvl 80’s, 9 times map, 4ele, 4ncr, 3war, 3grd, 3rgr, 2thf, 2msm, 1eng, 1 rev.
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

so Ive gone through all the pacth notes that I missed

just a couple of things, how to get to the pve maps? do u need to do the living story instances or can u just wlak from one of the previous maps over to there?

also, I’ve read about most of the skill/trait changes of the classes I play (well sometimes skimmed it) so warrior aint so OP anymore? hows class balance in WvW? anyone can point me to some current builds?

if I get home later I can compare with the gear, skills and traits I have for each char

and a new profession Revenant u say, interesting, or are u pulling my leg? :p

Check the meta battle site I posted earlier. It has WvW builds and some people seem to like it so take that as you will – http://metabattle.com/wiki/MetaBattle_Wiki

Entrances to the maps are in Brisban Widllands. Dry Top is entered from the bottom left hand corner of the map (South West of Toxal Bog) and Silverwastes is accessible from Fort Vandal (North of Triforge Waypoint).

The Revenant is a new heavy armour profession being released with the Heart of Thorns expansion. For more info check – https://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com/en/

and tnx to the link to the builds, nice collection
seems like my warrior and guardian build are still about 99% the meta (except for a sigil or trait here and there)
