100% Map Completion
eu or na? would be helpful info to know
I have 3 characters with 100% world completion.. several others ranging between 30% and 50% world completion..
I did all this alone thanks to PvE not requiring players to actually team up.. with exception to dungeon content..
I really wouldn’t mind if Anet added some areas to the game that are just full of powerful enemies that would require people to team up to get through it
Like in Aion and other MMOS

He’s asking for company, not help.
If your on EU you can /w me in game and I’ll come along as long as I find an alt that hasn’t completed the map you’re doing.
’Bout time I got my 7th character to 100%
I cannot afford a new character right now, but if the compant of bookish lvl 80 is ok, contact me and we’ll see if a mutually convenient time can be found.
The thought of doing 100% map completion bores me to tears. I play this game for fun and running around a map to get every single vista/wp/heart (some of those hearts are worse than watching paint dry) isn’t my idea of fun. Fortunately Anet made Exotic/Ascended gear more than good enough to run every single game mode.
…..Legendaries do look good though, just not enough to go through the pain for me.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Just be glad you don’t have to map WvW areas anymore. I spent almost as much time waiting on ONE tower as I did mapping all of Tyria >:o
To everyone who has made a new character, such as myself, and cringes at the thought of solo 100% map completion, I feel your pain. I am in no way suggesting that it is not possible, but merely stating that this act is excruciatingly boring when doing so by oneself. Putting aside my banter, I am a GW2 veteran who is actively trying to get back into the swing of things. In doing so, I have come to the realization that I have never completed the map nor the story missions. This being said, I was hoping to recruit a few people in hopes of actually playing the game as intended instead of boosting levels via WvW or other methods. My character name is Draxxus Hellfire, I am a warrior. Leave a reply if your interested.
I’m actually having a great deal of fun going solo on map completion. I’ve discovered (entirely by accident) some interesting places such as a dwarven jump puzzle where you needed to light the way with a torch, Scarlet’s Lair (no idea what that is, but it has chests that need keys to open), and little hidden passage ways through mountains and whatnot.
The trick, I’ve discovered, is to complete the higher level zones first since those invariably take up the most time (in addition, you can get caught up in events and chest trains like I did the other day). The drawback? Some of those jumping puzzles (such as the far western one in Malchor’s Leap) will drive you nuts!
At least you don’t need to do the WvW areas anymore. They were a right pain to complete.
The only horrible thing about world completion for me is hearts. They are really annoying and useless and make it take so much longer. I’d rather map WvW maps 300 times than do 300 hearts again. Atleast WvW is fun.
Best NA rallybot on EU
I’m working on world completion myself. If you play NA, I’ll roam with you.

I was lucky enough to get my first character’s WvW completion done when my home server was still dominating every single borderland.
Now that WvW completion isn’t needed, I might go for map completion on a second character.

Some heart quests are painful to play…
after you’ve completed a map several times it does feel like mind numbing work doing it again..
some maps are fun to repeat where as others are just…
it really doesn’t help either when you don’t even have speed buffs lol
I only have 1 character with 100% completion, and yes, it was a drag to do. Not because i was doing it solo, but because in nearly every map i had to consult a website for that one hidden poi or vista in some remote spot of the map or in a remote spot in the sea.
The hearts, well, some are fine, some are really tedious or long winded and take up a lot of time. But it’s not that bad.
The best part of doing map completion is when you come across “nearby” events when you see a number of ppl helping along. Some hearts can be completed faster that way (counts for mob kills) and in my opinion, ppl are always helpful. Even the skill challenges (not the communes) are better then.
And yes, doing the higher lvl zones first is way better. It also helps to ‘map out’ a map by running around it before doing any hearts, prevents you from missing spots.
