100% map completion and yet missing areas
Spoilers of areas below for anyone stumbling into the thread!!
Maguuma is almost certainly SW Brisbane as thats what most ppl miss. There’s a little area leading from a side path in the cliff to an event which connects to some GW1 lore.
Krytan…hmm…there’s a cave with a giant in it in East Harathi. Maybe that one?
World completion is only points of interest, vistas, skill points, and hearts. You are missing parts of maps in which nothing like those are around; rather, just map exploration. I had a similar problem, and found that I missed a coast line a zone. After I found the coast line, my achievement went off. Perhaps look up detailed maps of the areas, to see every detail of maps, because although you have 100% completion, you can still miss little parts of the world.
A both great advice, thank you. I will scrutinize each map.
Edit: You were right Randulf about Brisbane. Its that long ramp going up from the skill point above the SW corner. I never would have found that!

Same here, I got the same problem as you have.
Yeah, there are some areas that can be opened during events also. It took me a while until I completed all the Explorer achievements. But nothing was related to personal story as far as I remember. Some parts you need to open even you visited it in story mode (like source of Orr location).
I just finished 100% map completion title, and yet when you look
under my “almost completed” achievements, it shows:Krytan Explorer 174/175
Maguuma Explorer 165/167
I double checked each single map, and no missing points. Could they be
in the Story Line, which I have not completed yet on this toon?Areanet: Allow us a way to either hide things like this (which prevent us
from seeing other achievements we can actually work on), or make an
easier way instead of guessing what is missing on the map.Any help would be appreciated.
I had the same problem with Kryta. Turns out I was missing the JP in queens Dale. Just look at the wiki maps. That’s what I did.

There are a few jumping puzzles in their own zones – the hidden garden in Mount Maelstrom is the main one, and then there’s others like Conundrum Cubed, Griffonrook Run etc. that are well-hidden and not required for map completion.
Ahh the jumping puzzles! Well that’s a long list to double check hehe.

There is also the ogre kraal in Blazeridge, the skritt den in Harathi Hinterlands and the grawl cave in Dredgehaunt Cliffs. You don’t need to do the PS to get any of them but they are easy to miss if you don’t hug the edge of every map.
For me is Shiverpeaks, 172/175……cant find it for the love of me…..
Legendary SoloQ
I had the same problem a while back – 100% map completion, proper rewards for doing all that was required (gifts of exploration, etc.) but still missing areas in various places. I had a friend of mine point out some less-obvious areas and it helped a lot.
It’s a bit of a shame how map completion doesn’t factor in areas that aren’t yet explored, and only shows stuff that has an icon related to it, ie. PoI, vista, WP, etc. These named areas that quite a few people are missing should go into another category to aid in proper map completion, sort of like “Areas Discovered” (within that map).
It sure would save a lot of confusion if it were this simple, and would give people more impetus to search around for these missing areas.

Not luck and credit cards.”
Here’s a nice Reddit guide:

Having 100% map completion actually makes the achievement easier to do.
Just go to the wiki, look up a map. It lists whats in each “area” of the map – since you have all the pois, vistas and skill points, all you have to do is pick out the areas without any of these in them, of which there aren’t too many. Then just see which of these areas are still blurred out on your own map.
Very nice find Calanthe! I am going to use it now.
The main reason why I want this done is because 2 of my 3
“Nearly Completed” are these, which completely impairs
the value of this feature. As stated above, there should be a way
to hide certain ones.
Edit: Here is a missed one in Metrica Province if it helps anyone:

Im not sure what gate they are talking about in that link though.
I was all excited because I missed this one:

Upon opening the area though, it did NOT count for my last one.

If you get stuck and need a hint, check Bluestone’s guide on the wiki:
Found one of the 2 points after the above posters help for
Maguuma.
This is the last one Im missing:

Apparently I have to wait for an event.

Thanks for the help everyone. Got them both done!
This was the last one for Kryta

The same here, but coupled with another problem:
I have no idea which character has explored which map.
