15% from 10th World Completion
No one knows. Anyone claiming otherwise is lying.
Also, why does the patch worry you? It’s not like world completion is changing after the patch comes.
Yah. It would be easier to recommend doing it or not if we knew why the patch was important to you.
ANet may give it to you.
next patch wont affect world completion. what make you think so ?

I know.. no life.
My question: Do I have 2 nights to finish the last 15% so I can get it in before the big change, or do I have 9 nights?
I am probably the only person in Tyria who wants another week before the “big patch.”
I would doubt that it be this week as E3 is this week and they are there to promote the expanion or rather Guild Halls. Also last teuseday was Patchday even if we didn’t get much from it, it still was a patch https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates .
So the closest time for the update would be next week… But I doubt that too, and I have no specific reason to doubt it more than it would just be to good to be true.

Rather than do the full completion, go for the skill point challenges first if you’re worried about the patch coming earlier than you need. There isn’t anything to worry about though. I’m working on my 10th too, so welcome to the no-lifer’s club.
Patch won’t affect world completion in any way. Besides that: I had to complete world twice for the gifts. And even the 2nd time was painfully boring. Sure you can split it and do it here and there. Most of my 9 chars have 60%+ anyways. But TEN times? I rather dive into a pull full of used diapers ;-)
‘would of been’ —> wrong
Actually there is a good reason to do map completion before the patch. You will get bonus skill points for each skill challenge. After the patch they will be turned into spirit shards in addition to your world completion progress giving you hero points.
But that means you only need to do skill challenges before the patch. The rest can wait.

Not sure if that is correct… Not saying your wrong but how I understands it is that all Skill challenges and the Skill points earned from them will be converted to hero points. The Skill points earned from leveling after 80 and the Scrolls of Knowlage will be Spirit shards. So doing Skill challanges before or after the update will have the same result in the end.

Theres no way they can tell which of your skill points are from skill challenges or through other means. So pretty sure they will all go to spirit shards. And you will get hero points based on the number of skill challenges you have done. So yes you can profit by doing skill challenges before the patch.
Unless they make it so hero challenges give a hero point + a spirit shard (quite likely i think). Then theres no reason to do them early.
Why does it matter?
And, as was said above, it’s very unlikely that the big patch will be this week.

The specializations part 2 blog post definitely implies that there is a way to tell where your skill points came from:
“Hero Points will be limited, and they’ll be earned strictly through what are currently called skill challenges (these will become known as hero challenges) and leveling up. A level 80 character that’s done none of the hero challenges should be able to unlock more than enough skills, specializations, and traits to make several unique full builds. A single character who’s done a fair amount of the hero challenges should be able to unlock all of the core specializations, skills, and traits. PvP players won’t have to worry about unlocking anything, as all skills and traits will be automatically unlocked upon entering the Heart of the Mists.
Old skill points in excess of those earned by leveling and skill challenges will be converted into crafting materials for the Mystic Forge. Items and activities that were previously repeatable sources of skill points will now also provide that same crafting material.
There will be three categories of profession reward tracks, covering core specializations, core skills, and elite specializations."

Even if I’m wrong, this is what people have been basing their conclusions on.
One reason that folks might think that world completion is important to do now is that there aren’t any current distractions competing with it. After the next content update, we think|hope|expect that there will be enough changes in the game to change our focus.
However, as others have stated, we have no idea if there’s a patch this week, never mind if it will be a content update or not.
i have 8 characters, 3 already done the map 100% completion, while the other 5 have just finished the “exploration minus the hearts” (so WP, PoI, SP, Vistas only). did the SP only initially, in preparation for the upcoming trait/skill changes, but then i thought might as well cover the others except hearts…. hearts can wait.. lol
