Hello everyone,
I am curious if we can have 2 accounts (of course 2 bought accounts, one main and one alt for better farming, etc. etc.)
I know there are some games that don’t allow this, but we buy them so it shouldnt be problem right?

I’ve got two accounts, and so do a few other people. I don’t play the second much at the moment but you are allowed to have one. Are you maybe considering playing both at the same time?

I have also been thinking about doing this, do i need to install the game again onto a different hard drive? Or how would it work?

I have/(had?) 10 accounts of my own back in GW, I’m sure it’s fine for GW2 aswell.

No, you just log in with whichever account you want to play on. Same client, same computer, etc.

There’s nothing wrong with having/playing multiple accounts. It’s how you play them that matters. Sending key inputs to multiple clients at the same time for example is against the rules.

By default, you cannot open multiple clients at the same time on the same computer however.

Anet don’t mind if you have multiple accounts. I know that a lot of people have multiple accounts for storage, some have a WvW account and a PvE account, others have an NA account and an EU account. The list could go on

I think the stipulations are:

One forum account per person. So if you have two accounts, don’t use them both on the forum (as it causes identity problems, I guess).

You’re not allowed to play both accounts at the same time by using one input. (So if you press w on the keyboard whilst multi-clienting and both characters walk forwards, you’re breaking the ToS). One keyboard action should be one in-game action.

Because by having two games where the key inputs are the same players can abuse the loot system. It’s damaging for the game and is essentially botting.

You can have multiple accounts and you can play them in the same time by the same computer. BUT you have to be present in both accounts and none of your mouse or keyboard can be set to play macros on the other account. That means NO botting or try to use just one click for both accounts.

Well i wouldnt know how to play both at the same time anyway and one more question if i have 2 hardwares can i do a party with my 2 accounts and play for 2 at once? Asuming that i dont have 4 hands to play exactly at the same time but you know what i mean

2 different inputs is absolutely fine, even if it is controlled by one player.

The problem is when you use the same controls for two accounts and play them simultaneously using just one set of inputs (as this gives you an unfair advantage).

The rule is 1 key press = 1 action.

Owning 2 accounts is fine. Although it’s not officially supported being logged into 2 accounts is also fine. But controlling 2 accounts, or having 1 account do more than 1 thing per button press is not allowed.

If you (for example) press W and 2 characters on 2 separate accounts move forward at the same time then that’s not allowed.

If you (for example) push 2 and 1 character on 1 account activates skill 2 and then skill 3 then that’s not allowed.
