so the other day, i bought a ring of red death when i already had one… and i realized that i couldnt use it… after doing some research, i found out that you can only wear one… so my question is, if i were to mystic forge one of them and infused, can i use both? for example… 1 ring of red death and 1 infused ring of red death

That has worked in the past.

Keep in mind that there is another ring with the same stats – it just has the other infusion slot type…

This post shows up in the forums very regularly. It’s pretty clear many people are not aware of the “unique” mechanic and how it works, but Anet doesn’t seem to care.

Contact support. It is my understanding that if you have 2 identical soul bound rings, they will send you the alternate ring with the same stats but with the other infusion slot.

Creation of a duplicate ascended item should be allowed but a nice warning popup message would be a welcome feature. Should take a developer all of five minutes effort.

run daily frac runs and next thing you know is your slots overrun with rings to which you cant do much besides hoard or destroy.

Oh, if only we could salvage ascended rings for ascended mats… if only.
It wouldn’t even affect the market if they salvaged for empyreal or dragonite.

I have literally thousands of Empyreal, Bloodstone and Dragonite mats. It’s ridiculous. I would like kill myself if they let us finally salvage ascended rings only to get more bloodstone dust or empyreal shards.

I literally just DESTROY these nowadays.
