It’s been two months since the first posts about this bag not doing what it’s supposed to. Why is it still broken? Are the ANet devs aware of this problem? Is anyone else aware?

This bag, which says that exotics will fill it up first, keeps getting filled with junk and non-exotics. Thus, making my organization completely a pain since I switch weapons/equipments often.

Is it only the exotic box? My rare box seemed to work fine.

Rare item are put in first, but if my other box is full, items will go inside even if it is not rare.

I guess it’s only the exotic…because I have plenty of space and only 1 exotic box.

It depends on the order you have the boxes. If you have the Exotic box on top of the list in the inventory, it will start filling it first with items (regardless of their quality). The description simply states that it will prioritize Exotic items unless its condition change (like having the box on top).
Specific loot boxes like this one, should be placed last in your inventory.

lol? if you place it last, then what’s the point of it being a priority bag? Also, if I place it last, I’d have to scroll down every time I want to swap weapons…

I don’t get what you mean. What condition change? I just use the box, and it’s not on the very top slot either.

So you’re saying yes, exotics will fill this bag first if I happen to get a drop, but it doesn’t prevent non-exotics from filling it up? If so…..that’s a really lame bag.

Exotics prioritise entering the bag doesn’t mean the bag will exclude non-exotics from entering it. That’s it. That’s how it works.

Anything looted that does not fit into any other category bags you posses will automatically be dumped into the first available bag.

The box is not bugged. The description does not say exotics will fill the box before anything else. It says that if there is room in the box, exotics will be placed there rather than in other open spots in your inventory.

This box comes in very handy. I have it in my last bag slot and any time I pick up an exotic, or go from two single-handed weapons to a two-haned one, they end up in it. It keeps my exotics from getting mixed in with trash loot I pick up.

Ya I mean, the normal bag don’t have a description says, “non exotic, non rare, non masterwork, non junk, non craft material will fill it up first before they go to other bag”.

So apparently it is how it work.

Trying hitting H. If you use the same weapons for a long time you should know their look by now.

What is this scrolling? Do you not have your inventory window sized to see the whole thing? Also – just swap the weapons from the left side of your hero screen…

I scroll, 160 slots stretched can get pretty big. Not complaining about scrolling, because that’s the way the game works and I adapted to it.

…yea I’ve maxed out all my bag slots so the number of junk can get pretty big…guess I’ll have to get used to scrolling then…(yes I use H to swap, duh)

I think you’re all missing the point of the Fractal boxes.

They are 20-slot bags that are basically free! And do you really need to save 20 slots for exotics that you might pick up while adventuring? If so add me to your party, as I’d like to join in!

I would rather they work as they are now than as OP interpreted them to work. Do you really find so many exotics as to fill this box before it is filled because the rest of your inventory is filled first?
The only thing I’d prefer over the current mechanisms is a box that prioritizes rare and exotic into it. then another that prioritizes basic and uncommon. I’d be one happy camper in that case.

It works fine… I have one. First off… it doesn’t say anywhere in the description that ONLY exotics fill it first and everything else avoids it. Things like junk that don’t have a specialized bag will fill your inventory at the first possible space. So if your exotic bag is at the top slot of inventory bags… it is going to constantly be filled by non-exotic things.

My 20 slot fractal exotic equipment box keeps getting filled up with junk and non-exotics too.

Wait.. maybe that is because DR is keeping me from getting any exotics… hmmm…

Actually, leatherworker can make a junk bag. You can have a bag for almost everything.

I have one of these and it works fine, any time i equip a 2h weapon my 1h off hand goes straight to the box as well as any exotic drops i might get, no problems. For junk mabye you should get an oiled bag.

It works like this:

1) If you get an item drop that is not exotic, it fill fill up the next available space in inventory.

2) If you get an item drop that is exotic, if will not fill up the next available space but instead go to that 20 slot Fractal Exotic Equipment Box.

3) If you have 20 slot Fractal Exotic Equipment Box at the top of your inventory, it makes no difference; all item pickups will fill the next available space.

I wonder what kind of brainstorming session they had when they decided to include this kind of item to the game.
