Usually one point of magic find on gear costs a fair amount in terms of stats lost. Now we have this +20% MF infusion that’s just so comically better than everything else available that even people that normally run no MF at all are going to want to use it.

And the game will literally need to be balanced around everyone running massive MF.

Need to review this one, it’s pretty important to the economy and the way we gear. Should be +3% or something, not 20.

I actually really love the change.

You know how everyone is complaining about mf gear and people use it in dungeon?

Now there is actually a reason for “everyone” to use it. Since a +4 tougness or +4 healing boost is too tiny, everyone should be using ascended gear with mf infusion.

^Not really if you’re playing Fractals at high level. As now you are abandoning possible extra agony resistance with magic find.

For other parts of the game, I don’t see that big of a problem with these new infusions. Especially when they take so long to earn

Depending on how MF stacks, you won’t be twice as lucky with two +20% mods than you are with one.

ya for sure fractal you need agony resist. But for everything else it’s fine? If you doing cof, coe, hotw, or whatever. People get upset with other people wearing mf gear. Now they shouldn’t since the boost is too tiny.

The point is that it’s so ridiculously better than anything else, you might as well increase drop rates and then just remove MF from the game. The choice isn’t even a thing.

but if you increase drop rates and remove these mf laurels, then dailies and monthlies have no purpose :P

Sure they would, people would be spending the laurels on any of the infusions on the list they like. And on ascended gear.

Of course your post reinforces the joke. The MF infusions are so good, the idea of even bothering with something else seems like a waste.

Magic Find is such a bad stat for the game overall, it causes so much paranoia with people thinking others are running MF instead of “real stats”.
I actually have had quite a few parties ending prematurely in namecalling and whatnot people not like having a MF leecher in their dungeons.

The stat itself isn’t even fun or interesting, it gives you slightly more chance to loot better items… how is that fun?

Magic Find needs to work outside dungeons only or needs togo completely, it’s ruining the game for many.

I’d rather leave “is MF good for the game or not” out of this and just focus on this particular infusion, which is going to actually have a meaningful effect on the economy.

It’ll become the baseline.

they make ascended gear mandatory outside of fractals, unless you want to earn less than half the gold/karma /whatever your stacking than other people do for the same time.

i can see how they went in with good intentions to give a useful infusion to people who didn’t want to do fractals, but i was expecting some thing like +10 vit 0 AR vs +5 vit +5 AR so you sacrifice a bit of useful stat for AR to be better at fractals at the cost of being better outside of fractals not big boosts to income generation. so if you were wanting to skip it and do content without ascended your kind of screwed cause the economy and future pricing will take this into account.

hope you like watching inflation when people start rocking + gold % across four infusion slots, not including the rest of the gear they add and this is only the FINE rarity of infusion, how much can we expect master-work or rare infusions to increase this by when they are implemented

seriously devs need to explain this

i wish the devs had a consistent vision and didn’t push out content they know is flawed

Its so that they have a excuse to reduce drop rates. Bots are unlikely to get the mf infusion. Instead of phasing out mf they added more instead.

I can see value of MF if they change it. ArenaNet keeps talking about progression, it would be fine if they removed the current MF from the game and instead gave people a way to upgrade their gear with MF stats that didn’t compete with any combat stats. That way MF is progression which doesn’t impact on the best in slot for performance players but at the same time gives some reward to people who want to grind out more progression on their characters. Additional MF is earned but it doesn’t come at the cost of your contribution to your party or an opportunity loss for people who choose to be more effective in combat.

To me that would allow MF to co-exist (with the exception of ombomberry bars, that still competes with valuable food buffs) with combat stats. It would also allow them to give players progression without impacting on combat stats. It also allows players to upgrade gear instead of replacing gear all the time.

I think this is a step in the right direction if MF has to stay in the game. I’m fine with the 20% infusion, I suspect gold find is far more reliable.
