2014- Halloween Event
Small story arc and repeat of all previous Halloween content except for that mini dungeon.
cancel dragon bash..
As excited about Halloween this year as I am, I am deathly afraid of things being removed and simplified in the name of trying to make content “less confusing for new players”.
If I’m running around the Labyrinth, and I hear “VROOM VROOM” then see the a chain saw wielding skeleton hitting players with a chain saw skinned pillow, then I don’t even know. If however that skeleton can still cleave a path right through countless inattentive players, and instill fear like he did last year then a little bit of faith will be restored.
The year1 Clocktower was more fun and sociable than the year2 version (as was the year1 Wintersday jumping puzzle vs year2). Hopefully they’d go back to that, but I’m not expecting it. It would be nice to see all the events from previous Halloweens, including Reaper’s Rumble (which was mysteriously absent from year2, perhaps in an attempt to concentrate players into a smaller pool of activities). And some new stuff of course.
Adding some non-gemstore stuff goes without saying. But I’m not getting my hopes up on that account.
I just hope they let you trade 1000 Plastic Fangs, Chattering Skulls and Nougat Centers at Sonder the Seller for their rarer versions again because i bought alot of skulls.
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
After what they did last year i hope they won’t bother with halloween this year.
I’m more excited about Winter’s Day. Hope Bell Choir is back.
I’m hoping to see the deathly pauldron, chainsaw skins, and minis.
Space Marine Z [GLTY]
“less confusing for new players”.
That joke is getting really old.
Anet has shown they understand they may have went a bit crazy with the September Feature Pack and has since gone back and fixed or undone some of the changes.
As for the Halloween event, I’m sure they will have one but just more about decor and the ready made events and drops will be going with no new story or events.
Then again they would have to redo Lions Arch decor seeing how the city has changed.

Smiter’s Boon says Hi…
As old as something might get players that are seriously wronged by ill attempts to balance/fix an aspect of the game rarely forget the failure and often won’t let the Devs forget it either. It helps keep everyone Humble and mindful even if its not the most kind way to do it..
On topic..
I’m not excited for Halloween after Last years shake down. Year 1 Was more brooding and well put together with Lore and Events and the scavenger hunt, plus more to do in the mad kings realm including the PvP match type.
Wintersday after year 2 is the most well put together festival Gw2 has and its what gave me So much hope for the future of the game. Now its the only update i look forward to with any certainty that I’ll have fun playing it, even if its just a rehash of the last years games and loot. If only anet could learn what they did right with it and reproduce it with some consistency across the rest of the game.
“Gw2, It’s still on the Table!” – Anet

I agree. I wish they would give a holiday to each one of the racial cities.
1. Hoelbrak is perfect for Wintersday
2. The Black Citadel is creepy enough for Halloween.
3. Divinity’s Reach already has the Queen’s Jubilee
4. [SPOILER] After the events so far of LS2, The Grove would be good for Dragon Bash if it returns.
5. Rata Sum – I’m sure something will eventually be put into game they could have.
I hope they will put back the Lunatic Inquisition.
I hope they will put back the Lunatic Inquisition.
agree…..that was really fun.
as for topic…….i’d expect new gem store items/old skins and maybe a new story instance or scavenger hunt + most of the old events (labyrinth events & JP).
ideally, they would add another “mawdrey-like” item, but halloween-themed to go along with all the old stuff (would love it to be a weapon skins, but i’d also take an item that eats empyrean fragments).

I hope they bring Lunatics Inquisition back. The only “pvp” I actually like.
Edit: someone else beat me to it.

The hell kind of idiotic logic is that?

Eh I kinda stop playing the regular game modes just for it, and this year I swear I will manage to get the secret rifle XD
So i wonder what A-net are going to do with EVERY years most important event, and i wonder what you think? Personaly, i hope we’ll see The Mad King once again, and not his kitten son.
Fixed that. Halloween is a pumpkin filled with awesomesauce.
I want more new Halloween weapon skins. Both sets the first two years were great.

I don’t think the Queen’s Jubilee event will return since that was mainly an event to introduce Scarlett at the end.
This will be my first big event in Guild Wars 2, I’m so excited I brought my Mesmer a witches outfit.
I shall be turning you all into permanent mini frogs and then proceeding directly to the alt+f4

Yes but we still had the events (mostly) this year tied to the festival of the winds. That is what I meant. I foresee the arena and duels continuing.

Rata Sum has the Super Adventure Box…… Might have been put in as a joke but I for one am sad it has not come back for a 3rd time.

This would be EXCELLENT!!!
The Black Citadel is a really cool location, but it always felt like it was missing… “something”. Giving it a Halloween makeover could really liven the place up, giving it a little more identity.
Same with Hoelbrak, too! I’d love seeing the Norn’s take on Christmas, with more of a “warm” feeling, but also filling in that massive, empty middle-area with a little more “holiday cheer”.
Where ever they put Halloween, it needs to have that Charr cub running around saying " Its hollow… Its hallow… Its candy day!"
Yarr! I be keeping me pirate runes, Matey. Yarr! You’re welcome. Yarr!
