2017 plans
I want to hear something about this too
I just recently bought the game hoping there will be more expansions of something but I haven’t read anything of the such. I’m very curious.
Unlikely. Even before Colin left, they said there probably wouldn’t be those kinds of announcements any more.
And Mike stated that they would rather show what’s being done, instead of talking about what they might do, or are working on.
Good luck.

They have stated they are working on a expac if that helps.
I would also like to see a rough roadmap, but it’s not going to happen. WHich is a shame, because it can be difficult for players to continuously invest themselves in an evolving game like an MMO when they have no idea what is ahead. I’ve just picked up Lotro again entirely because of their new year roadmap which shows a lot of exciting things ahead. That’s the sort of thing that brings back lapsed players.
The reason behind Anet’s not telling us to much is the aditued most people have when the Devs say they would like to add this or that to the game and for some reason it doesn’t work out, to many people take this as a promiss and get real vocal on the forums and elsewhere that the Devs promised to add this new content and they didn’t deliver. Also other game Devs trull these forums and other sources to watch and steal ideas that are announced to erly.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens

We know some things – raid development is on-going and legendary armour is being worked on. The Living Story has at least 1 more episode. And they’re working on a new expansion.
There might be more stuff as well which I’ve forgotten.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I just want Leg armor to be released, the rest of the HoT leg weapons to be released, LWS3 to be finished, and for the expac to drop at the end of 2017. At that point it would free up quite a few people at ANet to work on other content, like more changes to fractals, possibly bringing back LWS1, WvW rework etc etc
A former ANET employee ,( who shall remain un named, ) had a habit of making promises and not keeping them.
I’m not the least bit surprised that anet is being conservative about announcements now.
I’d rather the devs spending time building content than thinking of ways to preview it. Spending that time on useful features and letting content speak for itself is surely the way to go.
In that vein, Season 3 has been incredible so far. Season 3 is a testament to how far the devs have grown in skill.
I will make a long shot guess that we get the xpac in 4Q17 or 1Q18 simply because NCSoft stated GW2 had low earnings but expect it to improve with the release of the expansion pack that is currently being worked on. Generally on financial calls, when people phrase things like that, it usually means “coming soon” in order to counter the negative results. Imo coming soon is within a year.
However, the call is in Korea so culturally things might be different there and for all I know the xpac could be scheduled for 2020. In fact, one guy really ripped NCSoft and flat out called a project “a failure” which rarely happens with such bluntness in US calls.
