21K & 24K Achievement Points Rewards
How close are you lol? im assuming its just a mistake
Edit: not a mistake you get full radiant & hellfire at 1800 ap points
According to http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Achievement_rewards, you don’t get any skin @ 21K & 24K AP chest not even zenith skin?! When can we get full Radiant & Hellfire set?
Currently the foot, chest and leg slot skins for radiants and hellfire sets simply do not exist. It is unknown if Anet will make them for 21k Achievement points, decide to put something else there, or simply forget about it. Everything points to them originally not wanting to be bothered making a full set, so most likely they never will.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
I know that we get 3 pieces of Radiant & Hellfire @ 18K AP but those are not complete set. That is why i’m asking when or why Anet released only 3 pieces of each set? I’m only over 14K AP but the top NA & EU player is over 16K+ so they are pretty close and anet keep pumping new contents every 2 weeks. At this rate they will get there in no time
16k+ …. are you for real. These guys must love gw2
Achievement point hunting that hardcore is concerning. It’s the opposite of living life to the fullest. So much work, doing repetitive, boring activities for a number to get higher in a video game. They day they stop playing, all of that will be for nothing. No one in the real world will care, you don’t get paid a salary for doing that work, and in your deathbed, you would think “Instead of living, I spent a year busting my rear for nothing”.
In the future, I imagine there being a medical diagnosis for the extreme cases of video game obsessiveness, and some kind of treatment. I’d hate for someone I care about to be caught up in that.

so heaving fun is not living ? nice thinking there……
-Total War: Warhammer
-Guild Wars 2
I don’t think there will be a ‘complete set’. I think they are items like the Zephyr Helm, Southsun shoulders, Molten Alliance gloves. Items in slots you can hide. Those slots seem to get a bit more attention, probably because those are the easier-to-make, one-size-fits-all armor pieces.
i believe you get to have the opposite skins that you didn’t choose in the 1-10k range
so if you chose radiant…at 18k you can choose all 3 pieces of hellfire at once

There’s an old saying….no one ever went to the grave wishing they’d spent more time at the office.
A lot of people confuse working with real life.
While I agree that that many points is obssessive, no one knows the circumstances people live in and its probably better not to make judgements about it.
I have over 12,000 myself.

Hunting achieving points for an awful amount of hours is considered fun for you? If your goals in life come down to farming virtual points for literally nothing… I have nothing more to say. Clark Skinner’s post should be stickied lel, may save a life
Personally, I am frustrated about lack of remaining 3 set pieces. Can it be so hard to finish them? After 10k do not even want to bother with achivments with such situation.
So what do you guys play your games for? A sense of accomplishment I guess, whether it be to beat the next mob or collect that next piece of gear, or just to do the acctual fighting? Regardless, those guys sense of fun is collecting achievementpoints, I really don’t understand why you people can’t accept that. It’s what makes this game fun for them.

Some people like sports and watch that in their free time. I don’t see much of a difference between any other hobby and gaming. You could say balance is the key, but like someone else said you don’t know the situation. That person might just have an abundance of free time which makes accumulating that many points feasible. If I worked from home I would think I could pull it off too. Or was in college.

You’d be surprised how fun it is for some people, especially if you have a touch of OCD. Your brain literally releases endorphines when you get an achievement. It actually gives them pleasure to achievement hunt. It’s no different than people who collect things in real life, like stamps, sports memorabilia, toys, video games, etc. Sure it is only virtual and doesn’t have monetary value, but the effect on the brain is the same.
Different strokes for different folks and all that jazz.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….
Different people find different things fun.
Let them do what they want to do. It just boils down to you being jealous of the achievement points, because if you didn’t care…. well then you wouldn’t care.

Wow! Those were exactly my thoughts that made me stop playing hardcore WoW about 7 years ago…
+1
They probably aren’t worried about rewards that high right now because there aren’t that many AP available to players and probably wont’ be for a while.
Honestly, I don’t know if anything special SHOULD be done for AP rewards that high. I mean, if they start putting unique skins and such that require 21000AP to acquire then only a fraction of the playerbase is going to get it ever, and for a new player coming into the game seeing a unique reward that high would be harrowing.
I suppose they could add a second weapon set and allow it to be chosen at lower levels as well or something, though. Like, they add a second weapon set and from that point on you can choose either Zenith weapons or the second set weapons at 1000, 2000, 3000, ect.

^This right here.
I have 7k points and personally could care less about them. Half the time I don’t even do my dailies anymore. But I’m not going to say someone who has 12k+ has no life or put them down. We’re all playing this game to have fun. Some people like dungeons, some like wvw, some like world events or rp’ing or whatever. I assume the people with tons of achievement points are having fun otherwise they wouldn’t have so many.

That would be true if it didn’t affect my gameplay at all. Like getting screamed at in map chat for messing up Teq. Or having Twilight Assault take twice as long because someone wants some random achievement. Or draining supply camps/towers/keeps to build a hundred pointless rams. Or being bumped to overflow because they are zerging Scarlet’s minions. Or my personal favorite, watching server-mates suicide off a cliff for the daily rez, only to get happily ganked by a havoc squad.
It’s not so much that I don’t want them to have fun, I do. But if the game is devolving into a series of endless, arbitrary, and meaningless tasks that suck up the game-time of half the population, I’d like to know about it before hand. When did the game turn this direction anyway, Christmas time?

I’ve seen people yell at others in Teq, and I used to get bumped into Overflow for Scarlet back when it was still LS but haven’t since then, other than those two I can honestly say I’ve never seen any of the things you’ve mentioned. Like not even remotely. Guess its server specific?

Silence fools!
I have a whopping 3.6k to top all of you off!
Bow down to your rightful king!
Seriously, you chased after 16-something-k without being paid for it, and your worried about no more zenith skins or some glowing helmet set?? what about the achiv for 6 legendaries got that made too??
You do realize GW2 will end one day and you’ll wake up like after years of coma unable to explain the living world of your mountain of achivs …….
Just chill. Enjoy.
Trust me nothing special happens at 21/24k.
Even anet employees go “daaaaaammnn – can’t believe someone fell so deep to this —--”

Right, I enjoy the game, so I play it a lot. That makes a lot of sense. I agree.
