2400 Gems for HoT deluxe....
2400 is $30 the deluxe edition is 25 more than standard you paid $5 less.
And it’s to upgrade to deluxe in addition to what you already paid.
Pretty sure that’s just an upgrade to deluxe HoT from baseline HoT, like how you used to be able to buy the base game of guild wars and then upgrade to the deluxe.
Unless you are complaining that you can upgrade at all. In that case, they said you’d be able to upgrade to deluxe (from base HoT) in the gem store. They also said that you would not be able to upgrade later to Ultimate. Both of these things were stated, I think in the announcement (if not there then most likely the next stream they did).
it requires the base HoT version which is not available for gems…
I already had the base game (2yrs) I don’t care cor beta access or a tittle or extra character slot. All I wanted the expansion so instead of paying the $100 I paid I would’ve only paid roughly $30.
No, you would have paid $50 for HoT, and then if you wanted to upgrade one level, you pay the 2400 gems
So you are telling me that if someone doesn’t have the expansion and wanted to upgrade to deluxe, he would have to buy the expansion then the upgrade for 2400gems?
Exactly what I am saying, or just buy the deluxe straight up
If that’s the case, thank you for sorting that out for me.
You know, many people (me included) can’t afford Deluxe Edition now, so I pre-purchased since I don’t foresee that money available for spending in an xpac right now. I’m glad it’s available in the GemStore.
That’s actually a rather nice feature. It also allows people to upgrade solely by playing and converting gold to gems as well. I’m assuming that if you upgrade through the gem store before HOT goes live you’ll get the extra character slot and not after?
I bought it for 531g. have not looked back XD
I’m sorry for calling out the OP on this because he is not the first and certainly not the most incendiary, and I’m glad your issue is sorted now, but this is the kind of thing we need to avoid in the future, and we should have avoided it last week too.
You could have come on the forums to ask a question since the offer clearly raised a red flag for you, but you came for blood. People blame A-net for miscommunication and “PR blunders”, but come on… Any players who won’t even ask a single question and will assume the worst is the big problem here. Many can’t even be bothered to read more carefully.
Again, OP, I don’t carry a bad feeling for you, I’m sorry this was the post I was reading when I decided to call out this issue, and I’m glad you got the answers and assurances now. We need to all be better about how we communicate as customers and patrons, how we voice things on the internet, and how we treat each other sometimes too.
“This is only available to players who have already purchased the standard version of Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns.”
They should’ve bolded that section to make it more prominent and clear.
Gemstore deluxe 30usd 4000gem=50usd ultimate99.99usd…..
Gemstore deluxe 30usd 4000gem=50usd ultimate99.99usd…..
I suspect there’s a distinct lack of understanding buried in this post.
Gemstore deluxe is what, 4000 gems, in addition to the $49.99 or so base price of the expansion.
