250 mithril for 11 Orihalcum??
Its random i think you can get from 5-50 ori ore you were just a bit unlucky
You get between 10 and 50 orichalcum for that recipe. You just got unlucky, unfortunately.
Mystic forge is a gambling station and mithril is all over the place.
Much ado about nothing.
If you’d get 50 Ori for 250 Mith the whole time, the Ori price would be lower and the Mithril price would be higher. Here’s why:
250 Mithril * ~20c = ~50s
50 Ori * ~3s = ~1,5g
Meaning everyone would do it for free cash.
Basically, don’t ever count on the Mystic Forge for anything. Unless you’re doing a specific recipe for a specific item, it’s gambling. You should never, say, buy 250 Mithril Ore specifically to transmute into Orichalcum. You should only use that recipe if, say, you’ve mined 250 Mithril Ore and would rather turn it into some Orichalcum than sell it.
The most I ever gotten was 15. I have done it 10 times now and regret it every time.

It is not only the mithrils. It also need 5 dust and most of all it needs a skill point from you, so it also needs a level of your character. Also I don’t find it wrong to be able to use my skill points to make some gold if I want to…
So whats the use of skill points? We either do a legendary or we lose money in mystic forge?
The Mystic Forge is like a casino. It is always going to be in the houses favor and in the long run you are always going to lose money by trying to create higher tiered items. Now, sometimes you can win and get 30-50 t6 mats, think for crafting mats like bloods it caps at 12.
These recipes accomplish the same thing that the mystic chests did, which is to remove excess mats and ensure a stable economy. Sometimes you win, but most of the time you will lose.

Yeah but the dust is dirt cheap, probably <1s for 5. Getting a skillpoint can be done in 10 minutes easily. I currently have over 200. It’d be nice if I could convert those to gold at a 1:1 rate, but it would also break the economy.
