In the title to the game? Do you mean like “1hander spear wars 2?”

None of the above, for now. Before they start adding more crap weapons, I’d rather see they add the existing weapons to more classes. I mean, think about it, what’s more ‘iconic’ (and I’m using this broadly) than an engineer wielding a wrench so large it’s a hammer? (hint hint anet)

Polearm or Spear as both are very versatile (so more classes can have them). A spear can be ranged or melee so thats nice but a polearm appears to be cooler, especially for light armor classes. Polearm can be aoe (spins, smashes, cones etc.), mobility (pole vaults, jumps, charges, etc.), damage (skewer, pike, slashes, stabs etc.), condition (bleeds, vulnerability, cripple etc.), support (rally, fury, retaliation, banner like, protection (bracing)) etc. A spear is more of a single target weapon or point blank aoe (cone attacks, spins etc.), it can be a nice ranged weapon (javelins), condition weapon (bleeds, vulnerabilities, cripple, burning, poison etc.), support weapon, maybe mobility (like a harpoon gun). It would also work better with medium and light designs (rangers, thieves, mesmers, guardians etc.).

Spears on land could be a 1hander weapon similar to Archeage in that you can fight Melee with a spear and shield. The animations were good with it as well. Could work in Gw2 since the weapon itself isn’t really limited by real world uses. So a spear for one class may be a ranged weapon, but could be a Melee weapon for another.

Pole arms would be two hander but similar to Spears in look. Same rule apply in that it can be used in multiple ways by different classes.

Axe.

Well spears are stabby stabby, while axes are swing swing. I think we’ve got plenty of stuff to swing, so we need some more stabbing.

I’ve wanted a 2 handed spear out of the water for my ranger since before the game released, so technically none of the above.

Spears are underwater weapons, axes are not. We have one and two-handed versions of maces and swords, but only one-handed axes. I’d like parity in that regard.

I want a 2 hands legendary axe. It would be great, maybe better than eternity.
People only use the best weapons for damage, and I don´t think that polearm or land spear were suitable for that, instead they would be defensive weapons.

I fail to the how a 2-handed Axe would differ from the 2-handed Greatsword, aside from aesthetics, they are mechanically the same. Kind of how a 1-handed Hammer works the same as the 1-handed bludgeon called the Mace.

And the polearm is just the Staff.

Spears already exist.

I think you need to rework your question to, What weapon to you want your class to be able to use?

Me=Ranger and Rifles/Pistols or Engineers and Swords/Daggers.

Right now if Anet redesigned Spear skills and gave my Thief the ability to use the Legendary Spear (my favorite of all legendaries) on land it’s results on me would be the equivalent of feeding me a borderline fatal overdose of Viagra. Even more-so if it’s 1handed. I want it so bad you couldn’t even begin to understand.
