The 2 year birthday scrolls are also level 20. as if you couldn’t level your entire account’s sub level 20 characters on year 1 birthday scrolls.

so I already had 18 experience scrolls from the bug last year, and now I have 8 more… I have 8 level 80s what the hell am I going to do with this many experience scrolls?

edit also why isnt the birthday blaster account bound?

i got the level 20 scroll and 5 skill points scroll. im not crazy about the level 20 but i buy slots now and then and i might use all i got from last year and will this year eventually. i loved the 5 skill points one along with the blaster plus the birthday booster i will use so im happier then i was last year

Birthday Blaster is much better than last year’s Mini Jennah Parade. The experience scrolls being the same is confusing, though.

It’d be nice if they gave more starting levels as the years went on, though. 30 would be a nice place since that’s where traits first start appearing.

These need to be craftable to higher levels like agony infusions. 2 level 20 scrolls gives you a level 40 scroll, 2 level 40 scrolls gives you a level 60 scroll, 2 level 60 scrolls gives you a level 80. If you have managed to accumulate 8 characters for a year, you have probably earned an insta-80.

I’ve never key farmed, but if you have excess scrolls you will never use then why not give yourselves a few very easy speed-runs with an instant level 20 character completing personal story to level 10? :-)

I would think that 2 years later most people would already have all the characters they needed, basically making those lvl 20 scrolls and skill point scrolls pretty much useless. The blaster was nice though. It’s just a little disappointing the birthday gifts seem to be only for leveling and not other things.

Well the problem with that, is actually the way downscaling works. If you normally keyfarm on a level 1 character with level 1 gear set aside for keyfarming.. if you boost up to level 20, you’re a level 20 character with level 1 gear. You end up doing a lot less damage than a level 5 using level 1 gear.

Indeed… I have 10 of those scrolls on my second account, never even could use them last year. Why would I need 5 more? And don’t even mention the ones on my main account….

Totally useless item to me since I only have 1 character with absolutely no plans on starting another.

This isn’t an issue of compromise. These items are pretty useless and pretty terrible x:

They don’t even need to do very much with the item. They just need to remove the “Upto level 20” and replace it with “20+ levels”.

Problem solved. And yes, they have the technology with the +1 level tomes. Noones going to use them because you can get character to level 20 in less than a day.

It’s such an arbitrary and lazy lack of coding. Yes, it’s lazy. I said it.

Should have seen this coming with the slot sale. I still have scrolls left over from last year. What happened to the level 60 scroll people where talking about? Now that I could have used. I’ll just leave mine wrapped just incase they change it to something people who don’t have a sub level 20, or don’t already have level 20 scrolls.

Use them for the monthly (skill points).

More disappointment from ANet who knew?

To get the level 20 scrolls on the same day I read that ArenaNET employees also play the game…

I ask, seriously, if you are an ArenaNET employee who has found a use in these level 20 scrolls in your second birthday, and your 1st birthday scrolls are all used up, please raise your hand.

So did ArenaNet just add ANOTHER kitten RNG thing where only a few people get lvl 60 and most don’t?

I’m happy with the birthday booster, and I like the 5 free skillpoints (well generally I make serveral a day certainly on characters without full map anyways)

But the blaster, how nice it and well… suprisingly new it may be, is not really working for me atm,. It would have been nice to use next to the other foods, or have it character switchable (read: ACCOUNTBOUND, instead of soulbound), as it would be very usefull to buff NEW characters instead.

I have 13 characters 12 lvl 80’s now, and I do not really need many more lvl 20 scrolls atm. I stil have 8 lying around, and tbh the fact it’s not stackable is downright annoying…

I do like the fact titles were added, I’m proud to have 2 yr old characters

I would have liked to trade in some of my 9 queen jennah’s, for another mini or just better scrolls (higher level or just higher amount of skill points, but maybe I’ll get better scrolls when my next 4 or 5 chars get 2 years old (still hoping I will…) …

you just need an empty characterslot

so make a new character and use the scroll so you have 16 free skillpointz

transmute t1 stuff to t2 is most profit (often atleast)

after this delete character and make new one – for all your lvl scrolls

It should give +20 levels instead of a bump to level 20.

Yeah I’m not complaining about the birthday boosters, those are always nice, or the 5 skillpoint scrolls, or the birthday blaster, those are fine. I’m just saying, level 20 scrolls seem poorly thought out considering you should have enough from your first year birthday to get your entire account to level 20 and still have extras, that and not letting them stack. I mean I don’t want to throw them away just in case anet changes them somehow, but as of right now, they’re useless.

I agree. I wish it was just +20 levels instead of only letting you use it to reach level 20.

Really? and to think people are payed money to come up with these decisions.

If the new level 20 scrolls don’t stack with the old ones, that does suggest there’s something different about them. Has anyone checked to see if they can go into the MF?

Guess you can’t please everyone. Character slots were on sale and obviously they want you to buy more and make more characters. I have about 20 of these scrolls from last year, as any character I had was already past level 20 by the time I hit the first year birthday.

I’m surprised the birthday vendor is even in the game though considering she offers nothing.

1. I love the blaster. Its looking nice and i can imagine that it will look perfect int he hand of a skilled asuran roleplayer. The buff it gives is also pretty nice, though you need a friend to buff yourself.

2. The experience scroll… well its a nice idea but if you do a few events, and many people farm this things due to money needs, you amass tons of the 1 point scrolls in a week. Still its okay, because there is (almost) always something to spend your skillpoints on.

3. Seriously? I mean, I have not played for almost a year but even I have (aside from the keyfarmslot) all characters on lvl20. I recreated 2 characters last week when I started to play more than once a week again and still have some left from last year. In my opinion it would be great to not make it 20 Instant lvl but more like experience scrolls. Set them so they give you the amount of EXP you’d need for the first 20 lvls or something like that. I don’t know the exact amount but i guess you’d need 8-10 scrolls to instamax 1 character then. Whats even better is: (i guess) everyone has a certain lvl span he hates to gap (25-40 for me) and with a fixed EXP amoutn instead of insta Lvl20 this would be possible.

I test fired the blaster when I got it and my char received that buff. I don’t think I even had to run over the cake to get it.

I have a level 30 necromancer that’s entirely too painful to level at this point especially with the changes to traits as they are.

And since they’re account bound anyway, ANet, can’t you just make them give you +20 levels instead of raising you to level 20? Seriously, anybody who’s been around for 2 years (or even 1 year) is more than likely already going to be higher level than that. And if they haven’t created new characters by this point, I doubt a new scroll is going to tip them over the line.
