Don’t want to devalue T6 bags for laurels, but provides an easy cap on Mystic Coins should they rise too high.
tbh i think 3 laurels for 1 mystic coin is too much already
2 laurels for 1 mystic coin would be OK to keep the price stabilized
I think an option should just be added to the monthly loyalty chest in the login rewards to receive 15-20 mystic coins. This way, it about doubles what you get per month if you want mystic coins, its in line with the amount of mystic clovers you get (7 clovers needs 21 mystic coins on average to obtain), and it prevents older players from liquidating their saved up laurels to flood the market with mystic coins.
Considering that Mystic Coins are around 80 silver and one T6 bag is roughly 90s-1g, 3 seems excessive.
If I want to get coins from laurels now, I’ll get heavy crafting bags and sell them. I’ll get ~70 silver per laurel or 2.1g for 3 laurels, which is good enough for ~3 mystic coins as I type.
Remember, to the extent that there’s a problem it’s that those who own m-coins aren’t prepared to sell them at current prices. But that reluctance is weak — small changes to the sources has changed the price point quickly.
The question is really: do we have a kormir-given right to have our own supply of mystic coins, that is big enough to supply our personal demand for shinies? Logging in + the occasional daily yields just over a stack, enough for one legendary per year plus some extra.
In my opinion: that’s plenty. I think it’s fine that if I want to build two legendaries, I have to pay someone else — perhaps dearly — for part of their supply.
One or two laurels for a mystic coin would be fair. Three is overkill IMO.

LOOOOOOOOL !! We have more than 20 legendary in the game. Using this “lavish” method a player needs more than 20 years to complete all the legendary weapons. Not talking here of armors or other MC using recipes.
Do you have any official information that GW2 will be still active in 20 years?
And even if an official statement regarding the life span of GW2 exists, can you guarantee that all the actual players will be alive over 20 years?
My opinion is that any method of supplementing the number of MC a player can get is OK. The MC system is one of the worst aspects of this game. You can have it if ANet wants. If they decide to stop giving you the MC you have no alternative sources. The anomaly is a joke :-))) They force you to wait in order to receive your MC. But if you don’t want to wait you are forced to do ONE aspect of the game – hunting the Anomaly. Great way to play how you want :-))
Players can already get 1 laurel a day from the one anomaly boss on selected maps. There’s the 20 mystic coins from the login rewards. Then there’s the mystic forge dailies. There’s also several ways to get mystic clovers which reduces the number of mystic coins that you need. I don’t see a need to provide yet another way to get coins.
I still do not understand the overrated desire for Mystic Coins as it is. Sure you use them in the Mystic Forge, but the items you can acquire that way can be obtained other ways as well. I have around 100 Clovers and none came from the Forge, all from the Week 4 Login reward and PVP reward tracks by only doing the dailies. And now you have WvW reward tracks so you can get even more.
I guess the point I’m trying to figure out is why people are still stuck on the Mystic Toilet…
Mystic Coins are fine as they are. If you insist on producing more mystic coins buy more accounts for login rewards.
Personally I am getting 4950 t6 mats and 600 mystic coins per 30 days.
Not everyone has the luxury of buying multiple accounts. Plus it hardly qualifies as a great method for a kittenty system. Just open your wallet and you will have everything in the game. Well great. I actually want to just play the game, not just buy out my special snowflake status.

I have no information about the longevity of GW2. My point is that I can make all the legendaries I want if I’m willing to pay for them. You aren’t forced to farm the anomaly; you can buy mystic coins on the TP.

Yes, because we can all afford to fork over $600 for 30 accounts (they are $20 each now, right?). Great solution /s

Well you dont need 30 accounts, 2-3 extra accounts would go a long way if you want more mystic coins

US$60 will get you over 1,000 gold at current gem-to-gold rates (using the in-game exchange, of course). 1000 gold will get you roughly 1400 mystic coins (give or take, depending on how you price your offer).
Or you can buy 3 accounts, as suggested by Malediktus, and earn ~70 coins/month across the three accounts. Thus it would take ‘only’ 20 months for the investment to pay for itself counting mystic coins alone. (Obviously, the accounts earn laurels as well as other things that can be monetized, but the OP and others appear to be uninterested in spending gold to pay for mystic coins, so I’ve narrowed the comparison.)
Either way, Malediktus is technically correct that those willing to pony up RL cash can increase their mystic coin income. I can’t imagine, however, that folks in this thread would be willing to open their out-of-game wallets for m-coins when they are insisting that they shouldn’t have to spend in-game currency to acquire them.
In other words, this still boils down to the same philosophical question:
Should ANet be giving us enough mystic coins each year to self-fund the forging of more than one legendary weapon + one mystic weapon?
I’m okay with that amount. It forces us to choose which shinies are important to us, which are worth spending on, and which we can let go of.
I still think that we should be given a 15-20 mystic coin option in the loyalty chest. Its consistent with the number of clovers you get, and it can also be used for non legendary weapons that need mystic coins.
