1. make dungeon, champ farming, world bosses, WvW roaming, and SPvP rewards the same as Silverwastes so people can actually choose what they want to do endgame.
2. bring good rewards back to Obsidian Sanctum, and make it cross server like EotM
3. Bring back Raid on the Capricorn and balance underwater combat for PvP, instead of this weird PvP/PvE mashup with the new SPvP map…

4. start fixing SAB or at least give us some more hope.. : (

I have to say, I’m not with you on this. I do look forward to see what they have to say at PAX, but everything else is just “meh” to me. I would have rather a in game event celebration like in most MMOs, even GW1 has one, and there’s kick bottom.GW2 we just get to give ANet more money.

Well, there is a contingent of posters with an axe to grind that thinks it’s more like Festivus with the airing of the grievances than an anniversary.

Maybe we can get a Festivus pole in the Gem Shop.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the dye you get is account bound (even though it doesn’t day it is). So no selling on the trading post.

If you already have all the dyes in the game like me, better not opening the kits you can stack them (takes less space in the bank, for a useless gift in that case )

Otherwise the dye market would be destroyed overnight.

FREE Electro Blue dye TY Anet

Well, not too bad at all. Over time that’s going to give me (and others) a chance at some of the most expensive, out of reach dyes in the game. The level 30 scroll though…. I guess I’ll use one on my Rev then I don’t know after that. My key runners I guess. The teleports will probably be of situational use. If I’m going to get 5 eventually for all my chars, I guess I can use them frivolously sometimes.

Found the level 30 (a whole 10 more!) scroll a bit of a giggle, but on the whole this is a pretty good package, particularly since the dyes are per-character.

I’m actually pretty happy about the Teleport to Friends. I have several characters that were leveled to 80 mostly through tomes, and the teleport lets me get a waypoint down in Orr when the farthest south they’ve been is Lion’s Arch.

Is the missing Shadow Dye Kit from the celebratory dye on purpose or left off by accident? Should I hold off using it in case they fix it later?

Also, is there any option to get Celestial dye out of the bday dye? I don’t think it was in any of the previous kits…

What I wonder about the teleport to a friend, will it let you port a char from the vanilla maps to somewhere deep in the expansion or will that be locked to stop people who don’t have the expansion porting to a spot inside.

Well, no one knows, you know. ^^

However if I was going to guess I would guess no. I’m going to assume they are a set dye package and to add more would require a seperate updates for them as new sets of exclusive dyes are added to the game and then replaced by a new set. And really, it wouldn’t be fair to the people that used their birthday dye and then more choices are added later. However this is only my guess and you could always set at least one aside to check later.

I’m so happy I have 9 dyes remaining for unlock, before all my characters are 3yrs old they are sure to release a dye pack again… just need to wait ~1.5 yrs… for the 9th…

nice gifts, but the lvl 30 exp scroll is not necessarily good though, especially if you want to create a character that park near and open JP chest….

Well this will pretty much destroy the dye market now that you can get 1 account bound dye of your choosing per 3 yr old character on your account.

So now supply hasn’t been increased (since you cant trade them) but demand has plummeted which now means all dye will normalize to some low figure most likely.

How much days you must been to get this birthday?

There will still be many players who don’t want to wait for three years to get a dye.
Also have to admit that dye market really is overinflated. 1000g for a single dye is kinda ridiculous.

There are more dyes that are high priced than there are 3 year old chars per account so while it will reduce demand some, it won’t crash the market.

I learned a really valuable lesson from Al Bundy from married with children long ago:
“Nothing is so stupid that some idiot will not be able to sell an item to an even bigger idiot. Of course, that only applies if you do not meet the queen of the idiots.”
Of course he meant that to highlight that he indeed had married the queen of idiots with Peggy, but the point is basically an universal one.

If someone is really stupid enough to invest 1000g for a dye, it will happen, despite how much it is a slap in the face of common sense.^^

Honestly, I’m not complaining, and I have some of the dyes on the market.

I’m glad that this is actually a birthday gift that people can actually like.

It’s not likely to destroy the dye market.

• Most people haven’t unlocked any of the dyes available from limited-edition kits.
• A lot of people haven’t unlocked all rares available from swatches.
• Most people don’t own more than half a dozen characters.
• Only a fraction of players have any characters hitting 3 years this month.

Consequently, we are looking at a limited number of opportunities spread out over the year (although concentrated around August/September and other periods when the game was available at a discount). There will definitely be an impact; it just won’t kill the market.

Or at least, after the market returns to equilibrium in a week or five, it will be just as robust as it is now.

I have to admit though, if I was someone who had a 1000 plus gold dye listed to sell, I would be upset. I wonder how long it will be before we see the first angry thread on the forum from one of the sellers of the ultra expensive dyes.

Thats not a bad package at all, esp multiplied over many toons.

In all honesty, the number of people buying the 1000g+ ones is so miniscule that it won’t really affect anything.

Nah. There are too many players who haven’t gotten the dyes vs the rate of players hitting their 3 year birthday. New players may not want to wait 3 years to get a dye. Or if the selection of the exact dye is still RNG based, they may not get the dye they want. And the dyes are account bound so it won’t affect the price that way.
